Drax and Groot are based on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 live-action film, and are sculpted in their movie accurate appearance. Drax stands at over 7″ tall and is sculpted in his dark blue pants, with black pads on the front hips, black boots with silver buckles, a black and silver holster for his blades that cannot be used to hold them, a black belt with silver buckles and details, green skin, and red tattoos that are sculpted on his chest, arms, head and back. The pants have a black wash over the dark blue deco, which looks nicely detailed.

The area that the tattoos are painted on includes textures on his chest, as this was sculpted to his body. The paint applications on the body are nicely detailed with crisp lines, and there is no bleeding and they look just like they do in the film.  Drax’s head sculpt has a great likeness to the actor, and is painted int he same shade of green as the body, along with the painted tattoos and sculpting. The facial details came out great, especially the eyes, nose and mouth. Drax includes two blades that are painted in silver, with red tattoos, and the handles are silver with black wash. Also included are five interchangeable hand sculpts.

The articulation is what you would come to expect, which includes a ball hinged neck, ball jointed chest, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, swivel hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, swivel hinged hips, double jointed knees, and swivel-hinged ankles.

Baby Groot stands at 1-1/2″ tall and is sculpted as he appears in the film, a tiny version of himself, which follows the events of the first film. Groot is sculpted like a tree bark, with sculpted detail and texture throughout his body. The head sculpt has some nicely detailed facial details including the eyes and mouth, and the top of the head is sculpted to look like tree bark, with some moss growing on the top. Moss is also painted on various part of the body, which includes the chest, back, arms and legs. Groot’s articulation includes tiny ball jointed hips, swivel arms, and a ball jointed neck with limited range of motion.

Overall, Drax and Groot are excellent figures, and great additions to the Marvel Select line. Make sure to also look for Star-Lord and Rocket, that are also just released.
