Disney Store Exclusive Star Wars Toy Box Princess Leia Figure Review

The Disney Store is now offering their Star Wars Toy Box Princess Leia exclusive figure and she is available now for $12.95. Princess Leia is part of the Star Wars Day celebration and was released in addition to the Elite Series Darth Vader figure. The Toy Box figures are based on the Disney: Infinity game designs, and are re-engineered and articulated. In the game, franchises could interact throughout all of Disney’s properties such as Marvel, Star Wars and Disney/Pixar characters. Fans of that game can now collect highly detailed and articulated figures based on those designs.

Recently, Disney Store announced additional characters that will be included to the Toy Box line-up, which includes Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, Wasp and Star-Lord for Marvel, Han Solo and Chewbacca for Star Wars, and The Incredibles – Violet, Dash and Frozone for Pixar. Additional characters have yet to be confirmed.

Thank you to Disney and the Disney Store for providing their exclusive Star Wars Toy Box Princess Leia Figure for review.

Disney Infinity was Disney’s version of LEGO Dimensions, where franchises collide and characters can interact. These figures are loosely based on this game, and have been re-engineered and articulated to resemble the game’s likeness. Princess Leia, Boba Fett and Luke Skywalker are the latest offerings in the Star Wars Toy Box line, with other characters, as mentioned above to join the line at some point in the near future.

Princess Leia stands at roughly 4 1/4″ tall and is numbered as #7 on the packaging. Princess Leia looks almost exactly as she was seen in the game, and she is sculpted in the Alderaan Gown that was first seen in A New Hope, that is painted in a light shade of grey as opposed to white. The gown is made mostly of plastic, with a soft plastic skirt around her legs. Sculpted around her waist is a belt that is painted in a light beige with brown deco on the front highlighting the detail. The gown also has a hood that rests on her back, and open sleeves. Her shoes are painted in white, and black trim around the edges and bottom. Included with Leia is her blaster that can be placed in either hand as they both have a trigger finger.

Her head sculpt features her iconic buns on either side of her head, along with the animated likeness to the late Actress Carrie Fisher. The facial details are nicely done, with nicely painted eyes, eye brows, a mouth with pink lipstick, a sculpted nose, and a dark beige skin tone as opposed to it being lighter as featured in the game.

She is also nicely articulated, which includes a ball jointed neck, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, swivel waist, swivel-hinged hips, swivel-hinged knees, and swivel-hinged ankles.

Overall, Disney Infinite was a great video game, and we are loving this new line by Disney. The Star Wars Toy Box figures are great additions to any Star Wars toy collection, and definitely something that all fans should own. Princess Leia features a great sculpt and excellent detail and quality.
