T’Calla, the Black Panther makes his film debut following the events of Captain America: Civil War, in what has become a historic first black superhero film. The Black Panther first appeared in Marvel Comics in Fantastic Four Vol. 1 #52 (1966) and has many notable appearances in comics, animated series, and now in three big screen films that puts the character on the map for the general public. This figure depicts his likeness as seen in the Black Panther Movie, but also in Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Infinity War.
T’Challa is a brilliant tactician, strategist, scientist, tracker and a master of all forms of unarmed combat whose unique hybrid fighting style incorporates acrobatics and aspects of animal mimicry. T’Challa being a royal descendent of a warrior race is also a master of armed combat, able to use a variety of weapons but prefers unarmed combat. He is a master planner who always thinks several steps ahead and will go to extreme measures to achieve his goals and protect the kingdom of Wakanda.

The Black Panther is based on his new film appearance and stands at 7″ tall. The figure is almost cast completely in black as seen in the film, comics, animated series and other entertainment, and comes loaded with sculpted detail, which includes textures on the suit. The suit also features some sculpted lines that has a different type of texture than the overall design of the suit, as well as silver claws around his neck (that looks like a necklace, armor, waist, and lower legs. The finger and toe nails are also sharp, and have silver deco on them as well. The head sculpt is shaped like a panther, and has a smooth feel it to it. The mask also has silver lines around the face, silver deco for eyes, and panther ears. There is also some nicely sculpted detail on the top of mask that is nicely done.
Black Panther’s articulation includes a ball jointed neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, ball jointed torso, swivel-hinged hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
He includes two sets of hand sculpts, one closed fisted, and the other open handed with his claws out as if he’s ready to scratch and tear into an opponent. He also includes a base, which is a diorama of the movie’s Warrior Falls. The diorama does not have pegs for his feet to stand on, and includes a wall with sculpted lines and detailed deco, with a rock surcease that is painted in dark grey with a light grey wash over it, and some light blue deco in various places. The wall is mostly silver, with some off white deco.
Overall, Black Panther is an excellent figure that fans of the Avengers will definitely want to own. The figure has a superior likeness to the film, as well as great sculpted detail and textures that fans will love.
