Diamond Select Toys – Marvel Select Avengers: Infinity War Iron Spider-Man Figure Review

Diamond Select Toys newly released Marvel Select Avengers: Infinity War Iron Spider-Man Figure is available now wherever comic books are sold and online retailers. Iron Spider-Man was originally called the Iron Spider in several Marvel Comics books such as The Amazing Spider-Man and the Civil War storyline in 2006-2007, which had Captain America and Iron Man at odds with the Super Hero Registration Act. This storyline inspired the events of the live-action film Captain America: Civil War in 2016. The Iron Spider-Man suit is reimagined than what it had originally looked like in the comics, but keeps the iconic colors of Spider-Man and added gold. The Iron Man, along with Captain America and Thor with Groot will be offered by Diamond Select Toys in their Marvel Select line, which are all inspired by their appearance in the Avengers: Infinity War film.

Thank you to Diamond Select Toys for providing their Marvel Select Avengers: Infinity War Iron Spider-Man Figure for review.

Iron Spider-Man is based on his appearance in Avengers: Infinity War, which was Marvel’s blockbuster film of 2018 that brought the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy together to stop Thanos from collecting the Infinity Stones. Obviously, they failed, and the film ended with half of the universe deceased, including Spider-Man.

Diamond Select Toys newly released Marvel Select Iron Spider-Man has a beautiful likeness to the film, and the figure comes with the four spider legs that have multiple points of articulation. Spider-Man is sculpted and painted in the Iron Spider suit of armor that was created by Tony Stark, and this figure includes sculpted details and textures in the sculpt that gives it a high-end look and feel. The figure includes metallic paint applications with the red, gold and blue deco, and sculpted webbing wherever the red deco is. His head sculpt is masked and has the sculpted webbing and painted in metallic red, with white eyes and black deco around them. The rest of the suit is mixed between the three colors, but most of it is blue with the legs, armor, and sides of his chest, with parts of the chest in the metallic red, forearms and hands, boots, and belt. The gold deco gives the sculpted details a brightness over the red and blue. The torso and legs also have sculpted lines and curves in the blue areas of the suit, which looks great up close. The spider legs also have the metallic red, blue and gold deco, with the red and blue deco making up most of it, while the gold is used for the claws, ball hinge joints, and on the sculpted lines in the center of the blue deco.

Iron Spider-Man’s paint applications make him look more high-end such as something you would normally see with S.H. Figuarts, as the deco is truly amazing in itself. The figure is fully articulated, and includes a ball jointed head, ball jointed stomach, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, and hinged ankles. The Spider legs are also articulated, which includes four joints on each leg.

While Iron Spider-Man doesn’t come with a themed base, he comes with four sets of interchangeable hand sculpts allowing him many different poses for display purposes. This includes a closed fisted, open handed to grab something, wall crawling, and web shooting hands.

Overall, the Iron Spider-Man is an excellent figure with one of the best sculpts and paint applications that Marvel Select has ever offered, along with a great likeness to the film, and extra hands make this spidey a must-purchase for any Marvel fan.
