Diamond Select Toys is showing a lot of love for The Real Ghostbusters this year, and fans that attended San Diego Comic-Con had the opportunity to purchase the The Real Ghostbusters Spectral Box Set, and now New York Comic-Con attendees will have their own exclusive to get – the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. Stay Puft will be limited to 500 pieces and is priced at $20.00 on the showroom floor. Make sure to grab yours early before he sells out.

Scared Stay Puft is packaged in a window box with an opening flap, and includes nicely done artwork inspired by The Real Ghostbusters animated series. There are also images of the figure on the front and back, with a brief bio also on the back. On the inside flap is artwork of the Ghostbusters from the series.
The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man features the same sculpt used in Ghostbusters Select Series 10, and again in the San Diego Comic-Con 2019 The Real Ghostbusters box set, and is given a brand new “scared” head sculpt with a reused body sculpt. Stay Puft is based on his appearance in The Real Ghostbusters animated series, who was depicted as a friendly ghost that was a friend and an ally to the Ghostbusters and Slimer. But in the movie, he was portrayed as a villain in Ghostbusters 1 that Gozer used for one of his physical bodies.
The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is the mascot of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Corporation, which is why he was given a sailer hat, shirt and red bowtie, and looks friendly and non-threatening. The character has the appearance of a large chubby marshmallow in the shape of a humanoid as depicted in the film and animated series. Stay Puft also has some weight on him and needs to be balanced properly in order to stand up right. The figure has some articulation such as a swivel-hinged head, swivel-hinged arms, swivel hands, swivel-hinged hips and swivel ankles. His head sculpt is sculpted in a scared position, which is nicely sculpted and a variation of the other two releases.
Overall, The Real Ghostbusters are back and in a big way from Diamond Select Toys, and these figures are great offerings with excellent likenesses and attention to detail that fans will love. Ghostbusters Select Series 9 is a wave that many have been waiting for as this and Series 10 collects all four of the Real Ghostbusters, Slimer and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. This years San Diego Comic-Con and New York Comic-Con offerings was a great surprised in order to get more figures snd variations of existing offerings. Scared Stay Puft is a great addition to the line, and if you have the opportunity to pick him up at the show, make sure to do so. He’s available at the Diamond Select Toys booth during New York Comic-Con, and is only limited to 500 pieces, making him more of a limited production run than the SDCC box set.
