Mattel – WWE Royal Rumble Elite Series Target Exclusive The Rock Figure Review

Mattel is offering a new wave of WWE Royal Rumble Elite figures that will be available exclusively at Target Stores. This wave includes The Rock, Macho King Macho Man Randy Savage, Lita and Bobby Lashley.

The Rock is based on his 2013 Royal Rumble appearance, where he return to the event for the first-time in 11 years. In this event, The Rock faced off against CM Punk, but lost the match when The Shield put him through a table causing him to be dragged back in by CM Punk and get pinned. Then, Vince McMahon appeared, threatened to strip Punk of the title and only agreed to restart the bout at the insistence of the challenger. The Rock was able to defeat CM Punk the second time around and win the title.

Thank you to Mattel for providing their WWE Royal Rumble Elite Series Target Exclusive The Rock Figure for review.

Availability: January 2020 – Target Exclusive

The Rock is packaged on a standard WWE Elite packaging, with new artwork for this special figure assortment. The Rock is protected in a plastic tray with his accessories, with the Royal Rumble logo on the top on the white card. The Rock is shown on the sides, and the back includes images of the figures in the wave, a brief bio and description.

The Rock, aka Dwayne Johnson, is based on his appearance from the 2013 Royal Rumble. He is in his black shorts with his ring name on the front, a cow’s head on the back in white, black elbow and knee pads that are made of soft plastic and are a separate piece, and black boots. On his left shoulder, peck and bicep is a printed tattoo with nicely done detail as we’ve previously seen Mattel do with other WWE Elite, Basic and Ultimate figures. There is also a cow head tattoo on his right bicep.

His head sculpt includes the FX facial detailing and has a great likeness. He includes nicely done facial details and painted eyes.

Aside from the amount of detail on the printed tattoos and his shorts, the figure is sculpted with a muscular tone to match his likeness, and is also painted in a light brown skin tone.

His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ab crunch, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.

Included with The Rock are three sets of interchangeable hands, including closed fisted, open grip and chop, as well as a WWE Championship belt.

Overall, this is one of the nicest looking Rock figures Mattel has released and features a great sculpt and superior likeness. This is one of his more memorable returns to the WWE and the figure pays a great tribute to his appearance in this match. Look for him and other figures from this line in January only at Target Stores.
