Mattel is offering some new Best Buy exclusive Jedi Interceptor, Sith Infiltrator and Republic Gunship Vehicles that are 4.5″ to 6″, and part of the die-cast collection. The Jedi Interceptor is what Anakin Skywalker flew to Mustafar in Star Wars – Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. The Sith Infiltrator, also called the Scimitar, was a Star Courier used by Darth Maul in Star Wars – Episode I: The Phantom Menace. The Republic Gunship was used by the Republic Clone Army and the Jedi during The Clone Wars.

Each of the Star Wars Starships are packaged in a window box with artwork and logo’s on the front, images of the vehicles on the back, and images on the top.
The Jedi Interceptor was used by Anakin Skywalker to Mustafar In Star Wars – Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, which is a grey and green starship. The cockpit is located I the center, and R2-D2 is located on the right wing, is non-removable, and painted in metallic silver and blue. The flaps are hinged and can fold, and the top parts are painted in a dark red, while the cockpit is given metallic silver and a black windshield.
The Sith Infiltrator, also called the Scimitar, was a Star Courier used by Darth Maul in Star Wars – Episode I: The Phantom Menace. It is painted mostly in light grey with red on the top part of the cockpit. The wings are curved, similar to the Sith TIE Fighter used by Darth Vader. The front part of the Sith Infiltrator is long and curves inward, and the cockpit is located in the back.
The Republic Gunship was used by the Republic Clone Army and the Jedi during The Clone Wars, and is one of the most popular vehicles during this story arch. It features two large cannons on tops, two small blasters in the front, round gunners at the wings, and the body can store troopers for deployment on the ground. There are two windshields for the cockpit as it has two pilots, and the side and back would typically open up so that troopers can jump off, but as this is Hot Wheels the doors are only sculpted. This is given light grey deco, red, and yellow in the front.
Included for all three starships is a stand that has the ship’s affiliation. Assembly is required as you have to place the stand onto the base.
Overall, the starships feature great attention to detail, especially given the small size, and pay great likenesses to the source material. Hot Wheels Star Wars collectors will definitely want to add these to their collection.
