Mattel’s popular Turtles of Grayskull continues to exceed expectations this year with some all-new releases, and as I’m sure you aware this line crosses two of the biggest properties of the 1980’s, Masters of the Universe and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, with elements of both brands given to most figures. Skeletor has teamed up with Krang to face the Turtles and the Masters of the Universe, and is now in control of Castle Grayskull. He is even given a new character design that he appears to heave been transformed by the Power of Grayskull with some new neon green deco and a much more menacing appearance. Also make sure to check out Teela’s review.
Thank you to site sponsor BigBadToyStore for sending along Mattel’s Turtles of Grayskull Skeletor figure for review.
Availability: June 2024
Skeletor is packaged on a blister card with the Turtles of Grayskull artwork, including Skeletor and Shredder on the top, and the logo’s on the bottom. On the back is more great artwork, logo’s, a description and a look at the rest of the wave.
Skeletor is given an all-new design in this wave and it looks as though he’s been transformed after taking control of Castle Grayskull, with the new neon green deco, samurai armor, including a non-removable helmet, harness, gauntlets and cape, along with metallic silver armor on the ankles, wrists and sides of the helmet. The new neon green really stands out and has this magical element to it which is a nice touch. His skin tone is also given some new deco, including a light purple, that may have a hint of blue.
The helmet includes the head of the havoc staff in metallic silver, and he keeps his yellow skull, with hollow black eyes with red pupils, and a hollow black nose.
Included with Skeletor is an instruction sheet showcasing which parts of removable so you can swap them out with other Turtles of Grakskull and Origins figures, and a new mini-comic (more of the mini-comic is shown in the video above).
He also includes a can of mutagen, which is narrow enough to fit in his hand.
Finally, he includes this new havoc staff with two heads, and a chainlink that connects them. He can hold it in both hands, and this is also cast in a neon green plastic. The chainlink is mostly plastic but is brown in half at the center so you can swing one half around while holding the other.
Here’s a comparison with some additional Turtles of Grakskull figures.
Skeletor is also fully articulated, including a ball jointed head and neck, swivel shoulders, swivel-hinged biceps, swivel-hinged wrists, swivel waist, swivel-hinged knees, swivel boots, hinged and rocker ankles.
Overall, Skeletor is an excellent figure and a must-have for this collection, so make sure to grab him and additional figures now at site sponsor BigBadToyStore.
