Grand Admiral Thrawn made his television debut in the Disney+ live action Ahsoka series, which takes place after the events of Star Wars Rebels. Grand Admiral Thrawn first appeared in 1991 Thrawn trilogy of novels, and became the leader of the Republic after the fall of Darth Sidious. His comic book appearances, also known as the Expanded Universe, became non-cannon in 2014 by Lucasfilm, and they have since introduced the character in Star Wars Rebels.

Grand Admiral Thrawn is packaged on a blister card with logo’s and an image on the front as he appeared on the Ahsoka series, a look at the figure and package on the back, and a description.
Grand Admiral Thrawn uses the same body as Thrawn (VC296) figure from Star Wars Rebels, and given an all-new head sculpt to capture his likeness from the live-action Ahsoka series. The skin color is also repainted in a darker shade of blue to capture his on-screen appearance. The Imperial uniform is the same as his Star Wars Rebels please, which includes a mostly white outfit, with a black belt, boots, holster for the blaster, his rank in blue, red and gold, gold stripes on his shoulders, a metallic silver belt buckle and stripes on his torso and collar. Thrawn includes a blaster pistol that can fit in his right hand, or placed inside the holster.
Even though the Ahsoka Series didn’t live up to expectations, Grand Admiral Thrawn is simply one of those fan-favorite characters from his early comic book days, and even on a show that might not had done well, it’s just so great to see this character on the small screen. Over the years Hasbro has offered this character in a number of different ways, often in 6″, but he’s only been given a handful of notable offerings in the 3 3/4″ line.
Despite many of the Star Wars series not performing too well on Disney+, and Hasbro trying to cash in on these shows with action figure offerings, which have underperformed for them, there’s been only a handful of releases that interest me, and Grand Admiral Thrawn is one of them.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, swivel-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
Overall, Grand Admiral Thrawn is an excellent figure and one you need to add to complete your Star Wars Rebels/Ahsoka Series collection. Even if you have the Star Wars Rebels version, the new head sculpt and skin tone warrants another purchase. Make sure to grab Ezra now at Entertainment Earth!
