Overcharge is a triple-changer Transformer and made his debut in the Japanese Generation One cartoon, and made his action figure debut in 2005 as an eHobby exclusive. This is the first-time the character has been introduced to the U.S. market, and is offered as one of the last figures in Hasbro’s Transformers Legacy United line.

Overcharge is packaged in the standard window box packaging that is has been seen many times over in this line, including nicely done artwork and images on all sides. On the back are images of him in both modes.
Overcharge is certainly an obscure character that has never been released in the U.S. market by Hasbro, so this is definitely a character that you never thought you’d want. He is a triple-changer Transformers, similar to Blitzwing, and can transform into a robot, fighter jet, and a tank. Rather than basing his colors off of the Japanese Generation One cartoon or vintage 2005 toy, his colors are inspired from the card art from his packaging, and this actually is more appealing than how he appeared on screen or in toy form before. He comes in a dark grey, dark and light grey, metallic silver, metallic blue and red, with some yellow that is visible on his wings in jet mode. There is also a lot of great sculpted details throughout the sculpt, red triangles on the chest, the Decepticon logo on his chest, wides of his legs, and the top of the turrent you can see on his back, or in tank mode.
It should also be noted that this figure is a Voyager size figure, but he is priced as a Leader class given his complex transformation into three modes and accessories.
A breakdown of his articulation is featured in the video above.
Overcharge includes two giant Energon gauntlets that can be placed on his forearms as shown in robot mode, and the tips of the fingers can become blasters.
He also includes two blasters, and a sword, which can be placed in his hands, plugged into the 5mm ports on his forearms, or stored on his back.
His fighter jet mode looks great and he has every detail you’d expect, with the tank part of it seen underneath. The body is pretty bulky for a fighter jet, but that’s what you get when you have a triple-changer. The wings have Decepticon logo’s, as does the top just below the cockpit.
The Energon gauntlets can be stored in the back as boosters for the jet, and the blasters can be plugged into the sides.
The tank mode also looks great, and is mostly dark green, and has the details including tank threads, a spinning turrent and a cannon that is hinged. A Decepticon logo is on the top of the turrent.
The Energon gauntlets can be stored on the top of the turrent, and the blasters can be placed on the sides for extra fire power.
Overall, Overcharge is an excellent figure and a character that certainly fills in your Decepticon ranks. The amount of detail, complex transformation, and accessories makes this a must-have for fans, so make sure to grab him now at BigBadToyStore!
