Storm Collectibles continues their Street Fighter offerings with the newly released Blanka figure, inspired from Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers. Blanka is inspired from the 2017 game, and this is the best action figure of the character ever released. Storm Collectibles has achieved something truly special with the brand with each of their offerings, and Blanka is the latest release. This game, is an updated version of the Street Fighter II: Turbo game from 1994, which in itself was an update to the Street Fighter II game in 1991. Blanka is known as a green skinned, orange haired animalistic creature that has the ability of electricity.

Blanka is packaged in a window box with artwork inspired from the game, including images on all sides, and a look at Blanka in various poses on the back. He comes packaged in a plastic tray, along with a second one with the electric thunder effect behind him.
Blanka is an impressive looking figure and captures a great likeness to the game, with his big bulky muscular physique that we’ve seen consistently through each release in this line. He comes in his classic colors, including green skin, orange hair with a wash, light brown shorts with a grey trim on the top and bottom that is also torn. He also has brown ankle bracelets that are loose fitting. He’s also given some body hair that is also orange with a wash, including his chest, forearms, and lower legs.
He comes with 4 interchangeable head sculpts, including neutral, grinning, yellowing and injured. Each of these facial expressions are unique and inspired from the game. The yelling head sculpt you can see the interiors of his mouth, and the injured head you have the tongue sticking out with the eyes popping out. The hair is also a sculpted differently on these two head sculpts as well.
Blanka includes 6 pairs of interchangeable hands, including closed fisted, 4 pairs of open grip, and karate chop.\
Blanka can be posed in almost unlimited different ways due to his amount of articulation and interchangeable accessories. Some poses are certainly harder to re-create than others that are game-inspired without the use of a stand or base, which are not included.
He also includes an electric thunder effect, which is a ring and 2 lightning effect pieces that connect to it, to re-create his electricity powers and abilities as seen in the game.
He is also fully articulated, including a ball jointed head and neck, ball jointed and butterfly shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, lower ab crunch, swivel waist, swivel-hinged hips, double-hinged knees, swivel-hinged ankles, and hinged feet.
A comparison with Guile, M. Bison and Zangief shows the bulkiness of Blanka compared to these figures, which were offered in this line. Blanka certainly stands out in his own way, given his bright colors and character design. It would appear that Storm Collectibles are only releasing the original Street Fighter characters and some of their variants, such as Evil Ryu and Evil Ken, and Player 2 versions. That’s makes sense as these are all A-listers and best known characters.
Overall, Blanka features an incredible likeness to the source material and this is an offering that you surely do not want to miss. The sculpt looks amazingly detailed and the interchangeable heads and hands create some great poses. Make sure to grab Blanka now and fill out your Street Fighter roster.
