Dr. Mindbender makes his return to the line after 3 years and this version comes with some deco changes compared to the a Diego Comic-Con release, along with fewer accessories and packaging. This version is inspired by the vintage 1986 o-ring figure and updated to the 6″ line. This wave also includes Rock ‘n Roll and Cobra Viper.

Dr. Mindbender is packaged on a bluster card that is inspired from the 1980’s packaging, with logo’s and images on the front, images of the figures on the back and a bio.
Dr. Mindbender is a repaint from his San Diego Comic-Con 2022 release, with some new deco such as light purple pants, metallic silver on the chains and straps, a Cobra logo on the back of the fabric cape, which is also metallic silver. He also includes metallic silver plate over the crotch area with bolts and a pattern, metallic silver straps and chains over the torso, connected to a metallic silver belt buckle with a black belt, black boots and metallic silver stripes and buckles. Parts of the outfit have sculpted textures, including the pants, boots, straps on the biceps, and gauntlets, which are purple and metallic silver patterns.
His head sculpt is given a lens over his right eye, and he has a black mustache, black eye brows, painted eyes and nicely done details.
He includes a base, Brainwave Stimulator, DNA Extractor, Envenomizer, Energy pack, Power cord, a generator and a pistol.
All of these can be held in his hands, and the generator has a peg and can be placed on the back of his belt, and the power cord connects to that, and several of the accessories.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head and neck, swivel-hinged and butterfly shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ab crunch, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, swivel calves, hinged and rocker ankles.
The new release is on the left, and the SDCC release is on the right, and you’ll notice the purple pants are lighter, the chains and strap are now metallic silver, the cape is shorter and has the Cobra logo on the back, and the changes in the details of the face, which gives him a better likeness.
Overall, Dr. Mindbender is better than his original offering that is more accurate to the vintage toy, and much more details on his face. While some of the accessories used for the SDCC release are not here, you don’t miss them too much as this one comes with some of those accessories. Every aspect about him looks great, especially the deco, character design and accessories.
