Hasbro is offering a new Captain Rex figure inspired from the live-action Ahsoka Series on Disney+, which is part of their The Black Series 6″ line. Captain Rex is given a much-needed update in the 6″ line with this release, as his previous offerings did not offer this classic clean looking armor.
Thank you to BigBadToyStore for sending along Hasbro’s Star Wars: The Black Series 6″ Clone Captain Rex (Ahsoka) for review.
Availability: July 2025
Captain Rex is packaged in the standard window box, with artwork, and images on the left side, and back. Also on the back is a description.

Captain Rex is given all-new tooling that stands out compared to his other releases, such as Captain Rex that was inspired from The Clone Wars. This new figure comes in a clean white armor, with blue, black and dark grey. The sculpt is very similar to The Clone Wars Captain Rex figure, and you need to look closely to tell it’s not a repaint, but a new tool to give you a great likeness to his live-action role in the Ahsoka Series. Every aspect about this figure looks great, including the crisp clean paint, sculpt and details. The armor includes holsters for the pistols on the sides, and the skirt is made of plastic this time around. The shoulder guard and pads are also made of soft plastic to give the shoulder joint the full range of motion.

The head sculpt is also bigger than the one that came with the previous Clone Wars figure, and you’re also getting a really good likeness, with the short blonde hair and nicely done facial details. The helmet fits perfectly over the head, and is also made of a soft plastic. The antenna on the side swivels, and the helmet is mostly white, blue and black, with the antenna being grey and black.

Captain Rex includes two black pistols that can be placed in his trigger finger hands, or in the holsters on his hips.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double hinged knees, swivel boots, hinged and rocker ankles.

A comparison with The Clone Wars version of Captain Rex, which has a worn and battle damaged deco, compared to this new clean white armor. The differences are enough to warrant a new version of Rex, and Hasbro has done a fantastic job on this figure, and after looking at the source material, I for one am grateful they made a new tool rather than try to reuse what they previously did.

Overall, Ahsoka and Captain Rex are together again and this is the Rex figure that you’ve been waiting for. This armor and design stands out compared to what’s come before, and the attention to detail and likeness looks great. Make sure to grab him while you can!
