NECA Toys is an offering more great figures for their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mirage Comics part of the line that is based on the classic comic book. The Foot Elite Assassin is based on the “City at War” storyline. In this story, Shredder is dead and the Foot Clan is in a state of Civil War, with Shredder’s still loyal Foot Elite attempting to become the dominant faction.
Back in 2016, NECA offered an exclusive San Diego Comic-Con 4-pack of Shredder, with three Foot Elite figures, which was one of their first offerings in this line. Those Elite Foot Soldiers in that set were not bulky like they were depicted in the comic, and these new versions are given a better likeness and attention to detail than what’s come before.

The Foot Elite Assassin is packaged in a window box, with artwork inspired by the classic comic book series, image of him on all sides, and images of the figure on the comic in comic-style panels. The Foot Elite Assassin comes packaged in a plastic tray, with a smaller tray behind it that holds the hands and alternate unmasked head sculpt.
The Foot Elite Assassin is in-color, and there are three versions of this figure released, which includes black-and-white, and a red and black deco. This release, however, is more eye appealing in my opinion, and comes in a reddish brown shirt, beige pants, brown boots with them looking like individually wrapped bandages, metallic silver with a hint of blue forearm guards, with brown and black gloves, metallic silver and blue shoulder guards, and a cloth wired cape with some holes. The outfit also includes a brown belt wrapped around the torso, and he also includes black shading throughout the sculpt.
Included are two head sculpts, a faceplate with metallic silver with white eyes, and a human face with a mustache and nicely done facial details. The circular hat is removable and attached to the hood that is around all sides. Remove that, then pop off the head.
He includes four sets of interchangeable hands, closed fisted, karate chop, open grip and neutral.
Also included a long sword with a ball and chain, with real chain links that are attached to the hilt. Also included is a short sword, a dagger, and a set of batons. The blades are metallic silver with some blue deco, with the swords including brown handles.
The final accessory is the bomb, which he can hold, and includes a clock, dynamite attached and other details that both are painted and sculpted superbly.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head and neck (the hat does prevent some of the range of motion as the hoodie on the sides cannot rotate around), ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed hips, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
A comparison shows the Foot Elite Assassin along with some other Mirage Comics inspired figures released recently, and you can see how well he fits into the line.
Overall, the Foot Elite Assassin is an excellent figure and a great addition to the Mirage Comics portion of the TMNT line by NECA. The sculpt, proportions and deco all look great and this is a release you don’t want to miss. Make sure to grab him and other figures now at BigBadToyStore!
