Transformers Venin is inspired by his 1985 release in the Generation One line, and he was renamed due to a trademark issue, as his name was originally Venom in the Transformers Generation One toyline. Venin is part of the Insecticons faction of the Decepticons, and transforms into a robotic cicada.

Venin features an interesting design and you can clearly see the mashup between a robot and an insect, more so than other Insecticons as his head sculpt is not humanoid, more of a mix between a robot and an insect. He is primarily bright green, orange and grey, along with some red and black details, translucent red wings, mouth, and eye balls on the sides of his head. The wings are on the sides of his lower chest in robot mode, which is unusual, but in beast mode this is his back. The wings are tucked under his arms in robot mode, with the insect legs either lowered and placed spread on the top and bottom of the wings to your choosing. The head sculpt also includes an antenna on top, and the upper torso includes a purple Decepticon logo on the upper.right side.

Included with Venin is an electric-blaster gun and battle ax that can be placed in his hands, or forearms, and can combine to form an even larger axe.
In robot mode, his articulation includes a ball jointed head, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, hinged elbows, swivel waist, swivel-hinged hips, swivel thighs, hinged knees and hinged ankles. The wings are swivel-hinged, and the insect legs are also swivel-hinged.

Venin transforms a robotic cicada, which features articulated wings and insect legs. The accessories can be stored on the sides of his forearms in this mode.
Overall, Voenin is a great figure and a great modern update to the sculpt. This is a character that has not been offered since 1985 so he’s long overdue for a modern update, even if they had to go ahead and rename him. This is an great figure that you’re surely going to want to build up your Decepticons and especially the Insecticons. Make sure to grab him and other figures now at BigBadToyStore!
