Cobra Commander is inspired by his 1987 o-ring 3 3’4″ figure, and is given some new elements in the 6″ line. This is one of his most memorable variants in that line, and this is also the first-time the character’s battle armor is brought into this new modern line. Included are not only his vintage toy inspired backpack and sub-machine gun, but also some new accessories such as an Iguana, interchangeable hands, and a new head sculpt featuring reptile eyes.

Cobra Commander is packaged on a window box with artwork and logo’s and images on the front, an image on the left side, and images of the figure on the back with nicely done toy photography and a closer look at the Iguana and backpack next to it.

Cobra Commander comes in his Combat Amor and is inspired by his 1987 o-ring figure, and comes in his metallic grey armored suit, with red straps on the torso, red belt and holster for the sub-machine gun. blue outfit underneath with a sculpted texture, and black sleeve and pants under the armor.

His head sculpts are helmeted, with the Cobra logo on the forehead, and the eyes are the only difference with the human and reptilian eyes. There is also a black tube connected to the mouth and left ear.

Cobra Commander includes two sets of interchangeable hands (closed fisted, open grip, and an extra pointy right hand). He also includes his vintage toy inspired sub-machine gun, which can be placed in the holster, vintage toy inspired backpack, and a new Iguana that is green, yellow and back, with sculpted textures and a great likeness.

Compared him to the retro carded Cobra Commander figure, Hasbro has released two of the most popular outfits of him recently, which leaves the strong possibility of his hooded release could be pending, along with other notable versions of the character such as Crimson Guard, and other versions of him from the 80’s and 90’s.

His articulation includes a ball jointed head and neck, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.

Overall, Cobra Commander is an excellent offering and a nice update in this modern 6″ line. This is one of his most memorable designs, so it’s great to see him make the cut in the 6″ line.
