Cobra Commander is inspired by his 1991 o-ring 3 3’4″ figure, and is given some new elements in the 6″ line. This is one of his most memorable variants in that line, and this was the first and only time that the character came in a blue and black outfit with a grappling hook. Included are his vintage toy inspired accessories but in much more realistic colors as opposed to the neon orange and blue. Included is a Machine Gun, two swords, a sheath, and a grappling hook with a string attached. What’s missing is the backpack and figure stand that the vintage figure came with, but as he’s not on the Retro card, he’s not solely inspired by his vintage toy release.

Snake Eyes is packaged on a window box with artwork and logo’s and images on the front, an image on the left side, and images of the figure on the back with nicely done toy photography and a closer look at the head sculpt and sculpted daggers inside the holster on this thigh.

Snake Eyes is inspired by his 1991 o-ring style release, and comes in his blue and black outfit, with metallic black forearm and shin armor, black boots, a grey and black vest, grey and black belt, grey pouches with sculpted daggers on his thigh, a grey holster for his machine gun on the left thigh, grey sculpted armor underneath the shin armor and forearm armor, and Japanese writing on the forearm armor.

The head sculpt features a great likeness, and comes with a black mask, red visor with a blue strap around it, and a metallic silver face plate.

Included with snake Eyes are most of his vintage weapons, but in better realistic colors and not bright red. Included is a Submachine gun in black with red stripes, and this includes a removable ammo and silencer. Also included are two bloody swords, which includes black handles, metallic silver blades, and red deco indicating blood on the blades. Finally, he includes a sheath for the swords, and a grappling hook with string wrapped around it. You can remove the string and use it, but I left it factory sealed. What is missing, and notably mentioned is the backpack that the grappling hood can be placed into, and used to figure with the spring on the inside of it. As G.I. Joe Classified figures do not have these action features, Hasbro’s G.I. Joe team removed that backpack, and replaced it with a sheath for the swords.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head and neck, swivel-hinged and butterfly shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, swivel calves, hinged and rocker ankles.
Overall, Snake Eyes is an excellent offering and a nice update in this modern 6″ line. This is a great modern update to this design, and one that’s a welcome addition to the 6″ line. This is surely a great addition and one you should add to your collection. Make sure to grab him now at BigBadToyStore.
