Whidcharger is given his best figure yet in Hasbro’s Studio Series ’86 line inspired by his appearance in Transformers: The Movie. This figure is part of the 40th Anniversary Celebration of the film, and transforms from robot mode into an unlicensed Pontiac Firebird Trans Am sports car, with the proportions based on how he appeared in the cartoon.

Windcharger is packaged in a window box, with artwork and logo’s on all sides. The back includes a look at the movie poster on the upper left, which replaces a screenshot of Windcharger as seen in the film, and a look at him in both modes.
WIndcharger is given an all-new sculpt inspired by his appearance in Transformers: The Movie 1986. He comes in red, light grey, light blue, and black, with an Autobot logo on his chest in red, and an Autobot logo in white on the back of his lower legs (or the hood in vehicle mode). Windcharger’s wheels on both the shoulders and legs that can be flipper around to better match his vintage toy, which is something not shown in the instructions.
His head sculpt features a small lever on the back, and when lifting it up or down, it moves the head up and down along with the level, which is an unusual feature for a Transformers figure.The helmet and forehead are light blue, with dark blue eyes, and a light grey faceplate.
Windcharger includes a small blaster and a blast effect simulating his magnetic powers as seen in the film. The blast effect can be placed on the front of his chest or the front of his car mode. It can also be placed on his back in robot mode. The blaster can be placed in either of his hands, stored on the back of his pelvis, or underneath in car mode.

He transforms into an unlicensed Pontiac Firebird Trans Am sports car with proportions based on his cartoon model. The car is mostly red, with clear blue windshields and windows, silver headlights and front details, a light grey back, black tires with silver rims, and an Autobot logo on the hood.
The blast effect can be plugged in the front, and the blaster is stored underneath in this mode.
