The Cobra-La Royal Guard is inspired by the 1987 o-ring 3 3/4″ action figure by Hasbro, and given some new elements and details never seen before. The Royal Guard are genetically augmented super-soldiers and servants of Golobulus, supreme ruler of the hidden valley and last, descendant of the serpent kings. These creatures are bred for combat and even one of the Royal Guard represents a formidable opponent, even for the most skilled of hand-to-hand combat fighters. Their armor is derived from their civilization’s giant insect guardians, and enhanced in organic insectoid armor. Each Guard is superbly strong. These guards require close supervision and instructed in battle.

Cobra-La Royal Guard is packaged in a window box, with artwork and logo’s on all sides, images of the character on the sides, and the back features an action shot of the figure, along with a look at all of his head sculpts. He comes packaged in a plastic tray along with his accessories. A second tray is in the back of it for the wings.

The Royal Guard comes in a modern update to his 1987 vintage 0-right figure in the 3 3/4″ line. The red armor has sculpted textures, along with bone-like structures throughout it, with grey textured skin and sculpted details, a light grey belt with a holster for the pistol on the right hip, and a removable soft goods cape.

He comes with two humanoid head sculpts, with grey skin, and two very distinctive facial expressions and details. The grinning head sculpt shows the teeth, while the neutral one has a scar over the right eye, and both have painted eyes, lips and some great details.

Included is a pistol, spear, sword, pair of interchangeable shoulder pads, pair of arm blade gauntlets, pair of wings, cape and four interchangeable head sculpts.

This is the head sculpt that pays tribute to the 1987 o-ring 3 3/4″ action figure, with the helmet that features insect-like designs. This includes the antenna, big textured blue bug eyes, and the red, white and grey colors. However, this is far more than what he came with in 1987, as most of the accessories such as the spear, pistol, and interchangeable parts are new.

This head sculpt is more engineered with bone structures of the sides and forehead, along with the same features as the other helmet. The shoulder pads can be swapped out for these bulkier one’s, with more bone structures and details. There are holes on the top of the shoulders where the shoulder pads are plugged into. The cape is also where you line up the holes, and place the shoulder pad in to keep the cape in place. There also also holes on the back where the wings are plugged into. This is his most fierce form, and in any form he has advanced strength and combat skills. The wings are light blue with dark blue, and the bone structures on the front.
He is also fully articulated, and includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged and butterfly shoulders, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, swivel calves, hinged and rocker ankles. The wings can swivel in the back.

Here is a comparison with Nemesis Immortal and Pythona.
Overall, the Cobra-La Royal Guard features a great likeness to the character and makes a great addition to the Classified line. The new elements are a great way to swap out parts and army build, making him an interesting looking figure on your shelf. Make sure to grab several of these and army build now! You can buy him now at BigBadToyStore.
