Sunstreaker joins the Transformers Studio Series ’86 line, inspired by Transformers: The Movie. Sunstreaker is given a more G1-accurate deco and is a notable re-release from the Autobots Stand United multipack from 2024. This is the first-time the character has been offered as a single figure, in this G1 deco.

Sunstreaker comes packaged in the standard window box for the line, with images and artwork of the character in both sides, including the Transformers logo, and how many steps for his transformation on the front. The sides includes additional images and logo’s, and the back includes a description, a screen shot from the film showcasing the character, and a look at him in both modes.

Sunstreaker uses the Transformers: Earthrise sculpt and is a redeco of that figure, and a reissue of “Autobots Stand United” multi-pack. This is a more G1-accurate figure based on the cartoon and film, and comes with brighter yellow and dark-charcoal plastic, with the windshield and side windows painted in light blue, with some silver parts that includes the rims on the tires, blaster and on the sides of the forearms.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged biceps, swivel wrists, swivel waist, swivel-hinged hips, and hinged knees.

His head sculpt is small, but does resemble a good likeness of the character, and comes with a light grey painted face with light blue eyes, and a yellow and charcoal helmet.
There’s also an Autobot logo on the roof, which is in red, and there’s also a second Autobot logo you cannot see in this mode, which is shown on the vehicle mode.

The blaster can be placed in either hand, or into the 8mm port on either forearm. It can also be placed on his back.

A comparison shows the differences between this release, and the Earthrise release. The new brighter yellow certainly stands out more.

Here’s a comparison with some additional G1-inspired figures.

Sunstreaker transforms into a sports car, and now you can see the second Autobot logo located on the roof. The blaster can also be stored on the roof.
Overall, Sunstreaker is an excellent figure that fans will need to build their Autobot ranks, and as this release is more G1-accurate, it’s a definite must have. While there are no changes between this release and the multi pack offering, this release does not have that second blaster, which was originally offered with Legacy Elite-1. If you missed out on the multi pack, then make sure to grab Sunstreaker now at BigBadToyStore by clicking HERE!
