Kranix is finally given a proper figure and based on his appearance in Transformers: The Movie, and is part of the 40th Anniversary Studio Series offerings. Kranix is the last surviving member of the planet Lithone as it was consumed by Unicron, and ended up becoming a prisoners on Quintessa, the home of the dreaded Quintessons and Sharkticons. There he met Autobots Kup and Hot Rod, where he told them of the Quintessons and the fate of his planet. He then was taken by Quintesson guards and brought to the Quintesson judges, where they found him guilty and he was sentenced to death and fed to the Sharkticons.

Kranix comes packaged in the standard window box for the line, with images and artwork of the character in both sides, including the Transformers logo, and how many steps for his transformation on the front. The sides includes additional images and logo’s, and the back includes a description, a screen shot from the film showcasing the character, and a look at him in both modes.
Kranix is based on his appearance from Transformers: The Movie 1986, and is an alien robot that transforms into spaceship. He comes in his films accurate colors, including light beige and pink, and black toes. This is a phenomenal likeness as they captured his on-screen appearance exceptionally well, and he features sculpted grooves and details throughout the body.
The head sculpt is equally as impressive, capturing that oddly shaped head with the yellow eyes and pink mustache. A neat surprise is that he has a hinged jaw, which is something you almost might miss. The back of the head has light and dark pink, while the face itself is light grey.
Kranix includes a blaster, which can be placed in either hand.
His articulation includes a swivel-hinged neck, hinged jaw, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, hinged elbows, swivel waist, swivel-hinged hips, hinged knees, and hinged ankles.

His spaceship mode is certainly a bit odd looking, with his robot head facing forward with a piece covering part of his face. The blaster can also be placed on his back.
