This years San Diego Comic-Con 2026 exclusive is inspired by the new Masters of the Universe film, and based on the scene when Skeletor invades Adam’s mind and exercises at the gym. This would explain his physique in the 80’s cartoon assuming there’s a gym inside Snake Mountain. Gym Bro Skeletor is priced at $50 USD and you can purchase him on Mattel Creations starting July 23rd, 2026 at 9am PST, or purchase him at the Mattel Creations booth if you’re attending San Diego Comic-Con.

Gym Bro Skeletor comes packaged in a window box with the sides pull apart. The artwork on the front, sides and back has some great detailed images, including logo’s, his name and statements. The top of the box includes an image of the havoc staff, while the bottom of it says Lift. Laugh. Destroy. The window box features a plastic tray with a cover, and the back includes more images, including his exercise routine. The inside window box artwork features a gym in the 1980’s, with equipment that Skeletor can use to work out.
Gym Bro Skeletor uses the same body as his first release in Chronicles, including new clothing, such as the hoodie, headband, tank top, shorts, wrist bands, socks and sneakers. The hoodie and tank top are one piece, made of a soft rubbery purple plastic, while the shorts are a separate piece. The hoodie has sculpted and painted strings hanging below it, along with an image of the havoc staff on his upper chest. The shorts also have a tied string, along with the word Evil in a light grey box and purple text. The socks are white with purple stripes, and given a sculpted texture, and the sneakers are blue, purple, white, with pink circles on the sides.

The head sculpt is also reuse, and the eyes have a red glow in the sockets. The skull is nicely painted and detailed, and even keeps the hinged jaw.
Skeletor includes two sets of interchangeable hands (open grip, left closed fisted, right claw), and a towel that is made of soft goods and has the havoc staff logo on it.
Skeletor also includes a set of dumbbells, and a barbell, and you can recreate almost all of the exercises with posing this figure as shown on the box. Not every pose is possible without the use of an acrylic figure stand, but most are. The dumbbells and barbell are nicely done and features a great likeness. The barbell also specifies that each plate is 75 lbs, but in reality each plate is supposed to be 45 lbs., so it’s unclear why the extra 30lbs. has been applied to each plate with this release.

Overall, Gym Bro Skeletor is an excellent figure with a great likeness to his appearance in the film, and a fun figure to own. Make sure to grab him if you’re attending San Diego Comic-Con, or online at Mattel Creations.
