As previously announced back at New York ToyFair 2026, Mattel is getting the DC license back and going into full swing, with a Kids line called “Core”, and a Collectors line that will be released next year. The first two waves, along with some box sets of Mattel’s DC Core line is available now, along with a new Green Lantern John Stewart figure that includes a tray of constructs that will attract both kids and adults, as Green Lantern figures normally don’t come with this many accessories.

John Steward is packaged on a blister card, with artwork and logo’s on the front, and the back includes a description, an image of the figure, and a look at the rest of the wave. Included is a sheet of instructions of how to remove the accessories from the plastic tray, and how to place them onto the figure.

The DC Premiere Core line is a great line for kids and collectors looking to start or expand their collection, which are 6″ tall and articulated. John Stewart is offered as part of the second wave, and comes in his classic Green Lantern black and green outfit, with the Green Lantern logo on his chest in white and green. The sculpt is lean and muscular, and similar to what Mattel had some years ago when they last had the DC license. This sculpt however is all-new, and fits in with what Mattel had done in the past, as well as the new DC Core (Kids line), and Collectors line coming next year.

His head sculpt looks great and features a great likeness to the character, with green eyes, black sculpted hair, sculpted and painted eye brows, and nicely done facial details.

The articulation is quite impressive considering that this line is inexpensive at $13.99, and Mattel’s DC team has found a way to give you key points of articulation, plus all of these accessories at this price point. His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double hinged knees, and swivel calves.

Once you remove all the parts from the tray and place them together, you get four accessories, including a fist, armor, a large blaster, and a small blaster. The chest and back armor has the Green Lantern logo on the front, which looks great. The armor and and the fist are attached once placed over the torso and hand, and these stay on securely. The blasters can also be placed together as shown, as the sides of the larger one has a hole to put the handle of the smaller one through.

Both of the blasters are given a great sculpt, and fits into his left open grip hand only, as the right one is closed fisted.
Overall, John Stewart is an impressive looking figure considering the price point, amount of articulation and the number of accessories he includes. They really outdone themselves with this release as Green Lantern figures normally don’t include four construct accessories. The DC Core line is off to a great start with these likenesses and attention to detail, and kids and adult collectors alike will definitely enjoy this line. Make sure to grab John Stewart and additional figures today at Entertainment Earth!
