Professor Rottclaw is an all-new character created for Hasbro’s G.I. Joe Classified Series 6″ line, and this if the first-time that they are introducing the dinosaurs into the brand. Rottclaw, whose real name is Crispin Killgore, and his wish was that he always wanted his own dinosaur. Unable to achieve this alone and being thrown out of Universities for unethical behavior, he sought out Cobra and Dr. Mindbender, as the only organization with the adequate facilities and resources to help him bring back the Deinonychus from extinction.

Professor Rottclaw and Cobra Deinonychus figures are packaged in a window box, with logo’s and artwork on all sides, and the back includes images of the figures with an action shot with some great toy photography.
Professor Rottclaw is an all-new character created for G.I. Joe Classified and comes in an armored suit, with an armored blue vest with black pouches on the front, a Cobra logo on the upper left side, blue and red shoulder pads, a black belt with armor underneath that is the same dark blue with black pouches, with a holster and clips on the back for the pistol and whip, light beige padding with sculpted details and black pouches with straps over them, dark blue pants with sculpted textures, and black boots. Both of his forearms are gloved in dark blue, with the fingers showing through on the left side, and the right includes a curved blade.
Included are two head sculpts, one featuring his head with a white mohawk, tattoos, and nicely done facial details with painted eyes and mouth, and the other one is helmeted, including a a dark blue hood with a spike on top, a red face mask, and night binoculars over his eyes.
Rottclaw also includes a pistol and a whip, which he can hold in either open grip and trigger finger hands. Both accessories can be placed on the back of the belt, such as the holster for the pistol, and the clips for the whip.
Rottclaw’s articulation includes a ball jointed head and neck, ball hinged and butterfly shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ab crunch, ball jointed torso, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
The Deinonychus pays a great likeness to the dinosaur, and this looks better than Hasbro’s Jurassic World line from years back. The dinosaur is given sculpted textures and details, with beige ankles forearms, feet, and front hands, long black nail, an almost all grey body with a black mane, a loose black mane with sculpted details and textures that is also removable, along with red, white and black on the head. The jaw is hinged so you can see the tiny sharp teeth, and he has painted blue eyes with black pupils. The tail is rubbery and bendy, with black sculpted hair the end, just as references pictures show of the creature. There is also a black Cobra logo on his left hip, which actually reminds me of the JP logo on vintage dinosaur logo’s on the Jurassic Park toys.
The Deinonychus includes skull and jaw armor, along with a Bridle that is put on over the sculpted mane by popping off the neck. This has a handle he can hold to control the animal better.
The Deinonychus articulation includes a ball jointed head and neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed hips, swivel-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles, and a hinged toe.
Professor Rottclaw and the Deinonychus is an interesting and memorable offering as it introduces cloned Dinosaurs into the ranks of Cobra. Along with the interchangeable head for Rottclaw so you can buy as many as you want to army build the dinosaur/trainer aspect just like in Jurassic World, which is probably where inspiration for the set came from.
Overall, Hasbro’s G.I. Joe Classified Series 6″ Professor Rottclaw and the Deinonychus Figures both came out great and are a welcome addition to the line.
