Darth Maul is inspired by the new Maul – Shadow Lord series on Disney+, which takes place after The Clone Wars. Darth Maul has found some new allies in the criminal underworld on planet Janix. Here, he is forced to survive after being discovered by Jedi on the run from the Galactic Empire, and the authorities of Janix, and has to face Inquisitors and Darth Vader himself in this series.

Maul is packaged in a window box with the standard artwork for the line, including images on the right side, and the back includes an image and a description.
Maul comes in a soft-goods cloak, with a hoodie that is attached and can fit over his head. The soft goods covers part of the torso, and is removable allowing custom posing and display options.
Maul is based on his appearance in Maul – Shadow Lord, and comes in a black and brown outfit, with metallic silver details on the belt and forearms, and metallic silver and dark grey lower legs, which are robotic. The top is split at the center, revealing his chest and black and red species characteristics, which is nicely painted and detailed.
The head sculpt features a great likeness of the character, with the red and black skin tone, sharp horns on top of the head, yellow eyes, a smirky smile, and nicely done facial details.
Maul also includes two lightsaber hilts, which can also be placed together, and two lightsaber blades that plug into the hilts.
The hilt with the pin can be placed in the hole on his hip for storage.
The two halves of the lightsaber hilt tend to come apart easily and are not locked into place, so you’re going to want to choose poses that hold onto both sides and place them together. The lightsaber hilts are nicely done with sculpted details and painted buttons, which is a nice touch.
Maul is fully articulated, including a ball jointed head and neck, ball hinged shoulders, hinged-swivel biceps, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, swivel-hinged knees, swivel calves, hinged and rocker ankles.
Overall, Maul is a great addition to the line and given an excellent likeness and attention to detail inspired by the animated series Maul – Shadow Lord. This is an essential character to the collection, so make sure to grab him and additional figures now at BigBadToyStore!
