Mattel is now offering their DC Comics Multiverse 6″ Lex Luthor Collect & Connect Wave, which includes Vixen, The Ray, Rebirth Wonder Woman and Gaslight Batman. Gaslight Batman is inspired from the Batman: Gotham by Gaslight graphic novel, which was made into a feature animated film in 2018. Gaslight Batman comes with the head and cape for Lex Luthor.

Gaslight Batman is sculpted in his classic grey and black batsuit, with a black logo on his chest that has stitches sculpted around all of the edges. The suit is primarily black grey, with wrinkles sculpted on to make it look realistic. The black parts of the suit are the cape and cowl, logo, gloves, and boots. The cape features some of the best sculpting we’ve seen from Mattel on a Batman figure, and the top part of it is made of plastic with stitches sculpted around the edges, while the rest of the cape is made of soft goods, including a vinyl coating on his back, and fabric on the front. The utility belt is painted with a wash on it, and includes pouches, a belt buckle, and holsters to hold four removable daggers that he can hold onto. The closed left fist is the best hand to hold one of the daggers at a time, but if you’re creative, he can hold daggers in other hand sculpts between the fingers. Two of the daggers are longer than the other two, making a total of four being included. There are also black buckles underneath his arms as if they’re holding the studio together.
Batman’s head sculpt has a good likeness to the graphic novel, with some sculpted facial details such as the mouth, nose and eyes. The cowl covers most of his head and neck, and there are some more of the stitches sculpted on his forehead of the cowl.
Gaslight Batman is fully articulated, which includes a ball jointed neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, hinged knees, and hinged rocker ankles.
Overall, Gaslight Batman is an excellent figure with a superior figure sculpt and a great likeness. We particularly like the overall execution of his cape and utility belt. Check back for more reviews of this wave coming soon.
