Mattel is now offering their DC Comics Multiverse 6″ Lex Luthor Collect & Connect Wave, which includes Vixen, The Ray, Rebirth Wonder Woman and Gaslight Batman. The Ray has many abilities, including light absorption, light processing, flight, light rays, hard light constructs, illusions, invisibility, light energy conversion, light energy healing, light speed flight, and lastly is a skilled computer programmer. The Ray makes his debut in the DC line by Mattel and features an excellent likeness to the comics.

The Ray is sculpted in his white suit with gold deco stripes and patterns on his chest, hands, legs and feet. The gold stripes are done in metallic that really makes the color stands out from the white, and each one is done in a crisp line. The sculpts nicely done, and over his chest he has the black and gold jacket, which is a soft plastic for the torso, and the arms have the jacket as part of the sculpt. The jacket includes the same metallic gold as the stripes and helmet, and is nicely detailed with a great likeness. The head sculpt is mostly covered with the gold helmet with the finn on top, and there is a white mask under it, and his facial details including the mouth and nose are shown. The eyes are painted in white, and black eye liner around them.
The Ray includes an extra head sculpt with an open mouth, and two interchangeable sets of hands (closed fisted and open handed). His articulation includes a ball jointed neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
Overall, The Ray is an excellent figure with a superior figure sculpt and a great likeness. We particularly like the sculpt of the jacket as well as the detail of the gold stripes. Check back for more reviews of this wave coming soon.
