King Hiss and Super Shredder are part of new deluxe sized figures that Mattel is offering as possibly some of the last offerings in their Turtles of Grayskull line. King Hiss is the ability to create of two forms, one with paying homage to a Foot Soldier from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the other is a giantic serpent torso’s with four arms and a large head.

King Hiss is packaged in a window box, with beautifully done artwork, including the Turtles of Grayskull logo on top, snakes and mutagen on the front, images and logo’s on the side, and the back includes more great artwork showcasing more characters, images of the figure, and a description. King Hiss includes a card and a sheet of instructions that shows which parts are removable and interchangeable with additional Origins style figures.
King Hiss is a massive serpent with four snake arms, a massive head, two torso’s, and legs that are shared with the mutated Foot Soldier. The snake skin is given sculpted details and grooves that is offered throughout the upper part of the body. His head sculpt includes sharp white fangs and teeth, yellow eyes, and a metallic gold and green deco, which also matches the color scheme on the upper torso’s and the snake arms.
His articulation in this form includes a ball jointed head, hinged jaw, ball hinged shoulders x4, hinged snake jaws on the arms x4, swivel torso x2, ball jointed hips, swivel-hinged knees, swivel calves, hinged and swivel ankles.
The snake arms are the same except that 2 are green, and 2 are metallic gold.
You have the option to use the upper part of the torso and place it on his hips, so he has 2 arms.
The gold torso’s peg joint is not compatible with the head sculpt, but it can rest on top. It’s an option to display him like this, but without the ability to properly connect the head to the torso will mean that the head will fall off easily.
The mutated Foot Soldier form pays tribute to the classic Foot Soldier design, with the exception that torso, arms and legs are green, as that is King Hiss’ color. His head sculpt has the red Foot Clan logo on top of the forehead, along with some new metallic silver details around the yellow eyes. He also has a purple and metallic silver piece around his neck that fits over the torso, purple shorts over the hips, metallic purple gauntlets and shin guards, and green feet.
In this form, the articulation includes a ball jointed head, swivel hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, and a swivel waist.
A comparison with some other figures in the Turtles of Grayskull line. King Hiss stands out on his own either form. The Foot Solider form could be an army builder option for people, which is definitely a good idea as there aren’t any army building options in the Turtles of Grayskull line.
Overall, King Hiss is an excellent offering and definitely worth adding to your collection. The Masters of the Universe x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Turtles of Grayskull line brings the best of both of these iconic 80’s properties that generations have grown up knowing.
