Playmates Toys is offering a new crossover line between the classic 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the classic 1978 Godzilla cartoon, which are given combined elements of these brands. First revealed at San Diego Comic-Con International 2025, this wave includes Leonardo x Godzilla, Raphael x Rodan, and Michelangelo x King Ghidorah. Donatello x Mechagodzilla is shown on the back of the package and could be part of a second wave. These figures are available now exclusively at Target Store.

Each figure is packaged in a window box, with beautifully done artwork and logo’s on all sides, and the back includes more great artwork of the characters, including Donatello as Mechagodzilla that is not part of this wave. Hopefully he’s coming. Each figure is also packaged in a plastic tray along with their accessories. Some assembly in required, such as Leonardo’s shell and Michelangelo’s tail and wings.
Leonardo is a crossover between Godzilla, and he has elements of both characters as part of the sculpt and deco. He keeps his green skin tone, but not work sculpted texture skin tone, along with blue bandana, belt with the L on the belt buckle, elbow and knee pads, wrist bands, a beige chest, and a turtle shell. His Godzilla appearance is clearly seen in the bulk of the legs, tail with spikes, spikes on the shell, size of the torso as he’s now on the chubby side.
The head sculpt is also given elements from both characters, including Leonardo’s blue bandana, skin tone, and Godzilla’s head shape, spikes, nose and mouth with sharp teeth.
Included with Leonardo x Godzilla is a set of katana’s with a blue flame effect around the blades, and the blades are in metallic silver with blue handles. These swords are thick as the flame effect has some space between the two halves of the blades, and these can only fit in his hands as there is no sheath on his back to store them.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel hinged wrists, swivel-hinged hips, swivel-hinged knees, swivel-hinged ankles, and a swivel tail.
Raphael and Rodan are given a crossover and features elements from both characters. He clearly has the body and colors of Rodan, including the brown skin tone with sculpted details, wings, head, and details on the skin that are clearly Rodan’s. Raphael’s elements include the red belt with the R on the belt buckle, red knee pads, elbow and wrist bands, beige chest, and the shell on his back that is teal.
His head sculpt is also mostly inspired by Rodan, with the shape of the head, horns, beak, mouth and teeth, and given Raphael’s red bandana.
Included with Raphael x Rodan is a set of sais’s with a red flame effect that replaces the blades, and the blades are now wavy like a flame. The handles are red and yellow that he can hold, and these can only fit in his hands as there is nowhere on his body to store them.
His wings are attached to his back and forearms, and are translucent plastic with a brown wash.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel hinged wrists, swivel-hinged hips, swivel-hinged knees, and swivel-hinged ankle.
Michelangelo is a crossover with King Ghidorah, which is notable a dragon-like monster with three heads. This figure is heavily inspired by King Ghidorah, including the metallic gold/yellow skin tone, wings body and tail. The skin is given sculpted details, and the body size is bulky that is also heavily inspired by King Ghidorah. Michelangelo has some elements, such as the yellow bandana, yellow belt with the letter M on the belt buckle, elbow and knee pads, and wrist bands. He’s also given a shell on his back in teal. The tail splits apart in the back, and the tips include Turtle shape shells that are round, with pegs around it. The wings are yellow with yellow translucent plastic, and nicely done sculpted details.
His head sculpt is mostly inspired by King Ghidorah, with the shape of the head, horns, nose and mouth with sharp teeth, with Michelangelo’s orange bandana.
Included with Michelangelo x King Ghidorah are a set of nunchucks, with flame effect chains, and yellow handles on both sides with orange ends. The shoulder pads are also removable, and can be placed in his hands, to create all 3 of King Ghidorah’s head sculpts.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel hinged wrists, swivel-hinged hips, swivel-hinged knees, swivel-hinged ankles, and a swivel tail.
Overall, these are excellent figures with great sculpts, deco and character crossover designs. These bring the best of both franchises using 6 iconic characters and crossing them into one design for the first-time. The design team has done a fantastic job on these with using the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1987 and Godzilla 1978 cartoons and bringing elements from both into these figures. These are certainly some of the most interesting figures from both franchises released this year, and one’s you certainly don’t want to miss out on. Make sure grab all 3 at Target Stores now!
