Super7 have begun re-releasing some of the older ThunderCats Ultimates figures as we’ve seen with Slithe, Bengali, Wilykit, Wilykat and others, and new variations of Lion-O, Cheetara, Panthro and other figures including the LJN vintage toy deco sub-line. Super7 is going all-in and expanding this line as much as possible with not only variations of A-list characters, but also diving deep into the roster and getting to characters such as the newly announced Jagara, Zaxx, Wizz-Ra and Mumm-Ra (Old Man). This line has become a dream come true for fans and has come a very long way since the initial six figure launch with Mattel 10 years ago.
Thank you to BigBadToyStore for sending along Super7’s ThunderCats Ultimates Bengali Figure for review. The figure being reviewed here is the original, but I thought I was receiving the reissue, so this review focuses on the first release, while talking about the reissue as much as possible.

Availability: 2022
The Bengali 2026 release is packaged in the standard Ultimates! window box, with some new updates compared to her 2022 release. The new version of the back has a ThunderCats logo on top where the Ultimates logo was, Ages 14+, Ultiamtes! and Super7 logo’s above the window, an image of him on the bottom, and the ThunderCats logo and his name is located in a different placement also on the bottom, as the design of the box around his image and ThunderCats logo is newly placed. The back of the box almost remains the same, with the Super7 logo on the upper right in smaller text and in red, compared to in white. The placement of the figure and accessories remains the same in the plastic tray. The 2022 release has the slipcover and brown mailer box which is not included with the reissue, but since this is the first release, this is being shown in the gallery.

Bengali is one of the last ThunderCats figures to have been sculpted by The Four Horsemen Studios, which I personally find to be an improvement over some of the figures that came after by Super7’s in-house team as far as quality control as these have no breakage issues. The joints are better, and it’s easier to pop the head off compared to some of Super7’s releases, such as Quick Pick as his joints were more fragile.
Bengali comes in his light and dark blue and grey outfit, white bare feet, white fur with black stripes, and there’s a holster in white and black trim for the Hammer of Thundera to be stored into, which also has a swivel joint. There’s a blue harness over his chest, which has the ThunderCats logo in red and black. He uses Tygra’s upper arms, hips legs, and feet, with a new torso, forearms and heads.
So what are the differences in deco between this release from 2022, and the 2026 release you ask? The blue deco on the face is given a brighter blue, which carries over on the harness and the hammer as well. That’s the biggest difference between the two releases.

He includes two head sculpts, one neutral, and the other growling with yellow eyes. Both heads are white with black stripes, and light blue on the top of the face and lower part of the hair.

Bengali includes four sets of interchangeable hands (closed fisted, claw, and two sets of open grip), the Hammer of Thundera, an Anvil with the ThunderCats logo, a Pedastal, a forged Sword of Omens, and an Ore piece.

The Forged Sword of Omens can be placed on the pedestal, and the Ore piece can be placed on the Anvil or pedestal. The Sword of Omens can be placed in either open grip hand set, which has the blade still on fire, with the Eye of Thundera.

His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ab crunch, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, hinged knees, hinged calves, hinged and rocker ankles.

Here is a comparison with the first Ultimates Tygra figure, and the Deluxe release.
Overall, Bengali features a great likeness to the series and an essential part of the ThunderCats Ultimates collection. The deco, accessories and sculpt all look great. BigBadToyStore only has the original release, but this is cheaper than the 2026 reissue and you’re getting more for your money, such as the slipcover and brown mailer box. Bengali is on sale for $52.24, and you can grab him now by clicking HERE!
