Super7 are continuing their ThunderCats Deluxe line, which are just like their Ultimates line, but for about half the price with fewer accessories (or in Mumm-Ra’s case no accessories) and repainted figures. Mumm-Ra is inspired by his appearance in the ThunderCats animated series, which ran from 1985 until 1989 with 130 episodes.

Mumm-Ra is packaged on a blister card with the ThunderCats logo on the top, and the back includes the logo and artwork on the back.
Mumm-Ra is given an all-new sculpt and inspired by his appearance in the classic ThunderCats cartoon. He is given the same sculpt as his upcoming Ultimates release, and how the two figures will compare as far as deco remains to be seen as the Ultimate release is upcoming. Mumm-Ra is part of the new Deluxe figure offerings, which uses the same sculpts as the Ultimates! figures, with new deco. For this release, he comes in an orange and black soft goods fabric cape with a wire around it for posing, which will also be included with the Ultimates! release. The sculpt itself comes with his white bandages as seen on the series, which a light blue skin tone. The bandages are wrapped around the body, with some hanging loosely and made of a soft plastic.
Mumm-Ra’s head sculpt features a great likeness, and features red glowing eyes with white pupils, white teeth, and open black mouth, nicely done sculpted facial details, and a blue skin tone. The bandages are also wrapped around his head, with some hanging down the sides.
Mumm-Ra does not come with any accessories, which is a first for the Deluxe line, but if you count the soft goods cape as an accessory, there is that. His only hands are clawed, and he is also the first Mumm-Ra figure in the Classics/Ultimate line to not include his iconic staff.
He is also fully articulated, and includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed waist, swivel-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
Here is a comparison of Mumm-Ra with Mattel’s ThuderCats Classics release with a plastic cape, and Super7’s first release of Mumm-Ra with a soft-goods cape.
Overall, Mumm-Ra is given a great sculpt and looks accurate to the 1985 ThunderCats series. The attention to detail, sculpt and deco are all very well executed and this is probably the best show-accurate Mumm-Ra figure you’re going to get in this scale. Since he has no accessories, he is limited as to how you can display him compared to his upcoming Ultimates release, but this Deluxe figure is also about half the price, making him a very affordable option.
