In 1992, Archie Comics’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures featured a crossover with Garfield in the Winter issue of that year, as Garfield disguises himself as a Turtle to sneak pizza. An interesting crossover of characters for sure, as NECA pays tribute to this magazine with their new Garfello and Odie as they appeared in the magazine. In this issue, Garfield changes him name to “Garfello,” as attempts to sneak pizza from the Turtles inside their lair while pretending to be one of them. The Turtles act quickly and kick him out.

The set is packaged in the standard window box with an opening flap, with some beautifully done artwork featuring images of the characters, logo’s, and the Turtles Lair on the front, Italian pizzeria white and red artwork and logo’s on the sides, images of the characters and a description on the back. The opening clap includes the Italian white and red artwork around the edges, images of the figures on the inside flap, and the figures come in a plastic tray.
Garfield is depicted by his appearance in the comic, and he comes dressed as a Ninja Turtle in disguise, with orange fur, a beige stomach with black trip, a green shell with black grip, a black belt with a G belt buckle, brown shoulder and knee pads, and a tail with black lines that helps him stand.
Garfield includes three head sculpts, each with their own expression and facial details, along with a black bandana around the face with the back of the bandana capable of being removed and placed in the back of the head you’re currently using. The facial details show his eyes in difference expressions, with two of them having a similar mouth, while the other one is closed.
Garfield’s articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball jointed neck, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed hips, swivel-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles, and swivel hail.
Odie is also depicted by his appearance in the comic, and comes in yellow fur with black spots and line shading, with two hairs on the back of his head, and a tiny black tail.
He includes two head sculpts, one his normal appearance, with long floppy brown ears, big white eyes, a black nose with a white dot on it, and black trim. The other head is a turtle shell, which is green on top with black lines, and beige on the bottom, with his tongue sticking out the front.
Odie’s articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball jointed hips, hinged and rocker ankles.
The set includes a stack of pizza, sculpted and designed with pepperoni on top with cheese falling down the side, a pizza cutter that spins, and Garfield includes four sets of interchangeable hands (closed fisted, open grip, neutral and clawed).
Overall, NECA”s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Archie Comics x Garfield Ultimate Garfello with Odie Figures is a fun offering and something that you never thought you’d see get made. The figures came out great with really good likenesses and attention to detail, and the set fits in nicely with the collection.
