Super7 is offering their ThunderCats Ultimates Wave 15 figures, which includes Jaxx, Wizz-Ra and Jagara. Wizz-Ra is inspired by his appearance in the ThunderCats animated series, which ran from 1985 until 1989 with 130 episodes. Wizz-Ra is a powerful wizard from the ancient days, who fought for good, and possess the Enchanted Golden Helmet of Pharnoor, which is a mind-controlling helmet. The character made a single appearance in the cartoon, with the episode titled “Dimension Doom.”

Wizz-Ra is packaged in a window bow that is standard for the line, with the ThunderCats logo on the bottom, with a red and white box that includes the Ultimates logo on the top, an image of him on the front and back, and a description on the back as well. Mumm-Ra is packaged in a plastic tray for safe keeping, along with his accessories.
Wizz-Ra is given an all-new sculpt and inspired by his appearance in the classic ThunderCats cartoon. He comes dressed as an Egyptian, with the Enchanted Golden Helmet of Pharnoor headpiece attached to the head, as well as gold armor, white cloth made of plastic with gold trim, a gold belt with red and blue below the belt buckle, gold, and brown sandals with blue in the front, and a collar piece around his neck that is also in gold and blue. He also includes a red fabric wired cape.
Included are two head sculpts, one with the Enchanted Golden Helmet of Pharnoor headpiece, and the other one is bald without it, as this is the head you can use when Mumm-Ra is wearing the helmet (which he also comes with). The official images show that the open mouth head sculpt has the helmet on, but it’s not possible to swap out the heads as it’s attached to the one it’s on, either by glue or particularly sculpted on. Both head sculpts look great and pay a great likeness to the source material, with nicely done facial details, painted eyes, eye brows and both have a long Egyptian chin piece attached to it.
Wizz-Ra includes five sets of interchangeable hands (closed fisted, open, pointing hands with Energy Beam effects, Transparent blue open hands), and a right pointing hand, and the Chain of Loyalty. The Chain of Loyalty is just a generic chain and looks nothing like it does in the cartoon, assuming that the description of it that Super7 released is what they meant to say.
In the cartoon, The Chain of Loyalty has the ThunderCats logo, along with circular gold pieces with images of each ThunderCats on it. This is one of the most sacred pieces of the Treasure of Thundera. It’s said that if the chain is broken, the ThunderCats will begin to fight amongst themselves, according to Jaga.
He is also fully articulated, and includes a ball jointed head and neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed waist, ball jointed hips, hinged knees, swivel thighs, hinged and rocker ankles.
Overall, Wizz-Ra is given a great sculpt and looks accurate to the 1985 ThunderCats series. The attention to detail, sculpt and deco are all very well executed and this is a great character and figure to add to the collection. Make sure to grab him now at BigBadToyStore!
