In 1908, Bob Gray performed as Pennywise the Dancing Clown as part of the Circus performers to entertain children and audiences alike. His act and the fact that children were drawn to him caught the attention of the Entity that plagued the town of Derry. The creature killed Bob Gray, and took his form, act and likeness going forward, using it to draw children to him to consume. NECA is basing this figure as he appeared in HBO’s IT: Welcome to Derry live-action series.

Bob Gray is packaged on the standard window box with an opening flap, with logo’s, Â images and artwork on all sides, including a look at the figure on the back and sides. The opening flap shows another image of the figure, and to the right you can see him packaged inside a plastic tray along with his accessories.
Bob Gray is based on his appearance in It: Welcome To Derry live-action TV Series on HBO Max that is a prequel to the films. He is given the same body as previously offered, but retooled as this figure is shorter than Pennywise himself. The outfit is an old fashioned circus clown outfit that is painted in grey with a dark grey wash over it that is much more detailed than earlier Pennywise figures, and you can se all of the sculpted details better this time around because of this. He has the red trim on the edges that look like hand stitching, which is just as detailed as Pennywise. He also has the red balls on the shirt and tips of the boots. The torso has the red balls in different places, such as the ball is no longer on his belt. The clothing is nicely sculpted and detailed with realistic folds and textures throughout the outfit, which also matches what he looked like in the series. The outfit is also a darker grey deco than other figures, and as stated above he’s also a little shorter than the previous releases. This has to do with his torso, and neck piece.
Bob Gray includes three head sculpts, two with the painted Pennywise the Dancing Clown red haired wig and paint applications on his face, and one with some minor white paint with his actual likeness showing, including the brown hair, bald spot, and all three have nicely done facial details. The two clown faces are smiling and sad, as seen as he performs for the children and audience.
Bob Gray includes three sets of interchangeable hands, along with one left balloon gripping hand. Also included is a Wooden beaver with alternate head, and he can hold flowers by placing it through the hole in his hands, small flowers and large flower props, along with grass and flower props.
The human head includes the wig that he can hold, but it does not fit on top of his head, and can be placed on the wooden wig stand that is also included.
Overall, Bob Gray is a nice looking figure and a great likeness to the source material. It’s great to see the character make it into the line as this is the first-time that a character other than Pennywise himself is offered, which is something new.
