In the second to last episode of the first season, Pennywise started in 27 year sleep in a bit of blood, which created this new epic bloody look for the character as now the outfit is stained and soaked in it. When the military removed and destroys a pillar that caged the creature inside the boarders of Derry, Pennywise immediately awakened from his slumber and he emerges with this killer epic look and design. With this new look, Pennywise arrives at the school and has a school assembly to lore the children to him. Using the Principal as a puppet, he starts the assembly, opens the curtains, and reveals himself holding the Principal, which he rips apart, throws to the side, and starts to sing. The last verse he uses the white light in his mouth to capture the children, they become stunned and unable to move, float off the ground, and follow him in Bob Gray’s circus car outside the boarders of Derry.

Pennywise is packaged on the standard window box with an opening flap, with logo’s, Â images and artwork on all sides, including a look at the figure on the back and sides. The opening flap shows another image of the figure, and to the right you can see him packaged inside a plastic tray along with his accessories.
Blood Pennywise is based on his appearance in It: Welcome To Derry live-action TV Series on HBO Max that is a prequel to the films. He is given the same body as previously offered with figures such as Bob Gray, but retooled as this figure is shorter than the first release of Pennywise himself. The outfit is an old fashioned circus clown outfit that is painted in blood red as opposed to the dark grey used on previous Pennywise figures. As this version of Pennywise was seen at the end of the second to last episode, and in the final episode itself, this look and design and specific to those scenes, which features him soaked in blood.
The clothing is nicely sculpted and detailed with realistic folds and textures throughout the outfit, which also matches what he looked like in the series. The outfit is also a darker grey deco than other figures, and as stated above he’s also a little shorter than the previous releases. This has to do with his torso, and neck piece.
Blood Pennywise’s articulation includes a ball jointed head and neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
Blood Pennywise includes three head sculpts, each with a unique facial expression, a red bloody face covering the lower half of the head, a painted forehead, red hair, and paint eyes. The blood detail on the face is the most noticeable and NECA’s team has done an incredible job capturing the likeness from the end of the season. The facial details thslemves, such as different expressions also given to the eyes, look stunning and realistic to the characters appearance. The mouths include open, neutral and smiling, and this menacing clown looks just as creepy as he does on the show.
Pennywise includes four sets of interchangeable hands, along with one left balloon gripping hand, all soaked in blood. HIs hands includes neutral, gripping, and chop.
Pennywise also includes a red balloon, which is attached to a wire for custom posing. The balloon gripping hand is loose fitting and doesn’t support the weight of the balloon, so placing the end of the wire on the ground is the only way to support the ballon to stand up straight.
