Megazarak joins Hasbro’s Transformers: Age of the Primes line, and was originally offered in 2004 as a OTFCC (Official Transformers Collectors Convention) exclusive. This show was renamed temporarily to try to rebrand BotCon, but it didn’t last very long and 3H Productions went out of business. This is the first-time that Megazarak is offered as a mass produced figure. Megazarak is a redeco of the Transformers: Legacy United Megatron and Galvatron molds, and transforms in a tank.

Megazarak is packaged in the standard Leader-Class window box, with artwork, logo’s and images on both sides, and the back includes images of the figures in both modes. Included is a sheet of instructions, which is featured in the video above.
Megazarak is a repaint of the existing Transformers: Legacy United Megatron and Galvatron molds based on Transformers: Armada. Megazarak however is based on The Official Transformers Collectors Convention (OTFCC) 2004 exclusive figure, which was available only to attendees at that show. This new release makes his first debut offered at mass production.
Megazarak is also based on the OTFCC comic book of 2004, which was also released along with the figure at the time at the convention only. His colors match the vintage figure perfectly, with black, metallic silver, light blue accents, and purple. His Decepticon logo’s are on the shoulder pads, which can be lifted up to allow additional range of motion in the shoulders.
His articulation is shown in the video above.
HIs head sculpt looks great to the source material as well, with a metallic silver face, metallic purple, orange, and red eyes,
Just like Megatron and Galvatron, which were based on Transformers: Armada, he has the same features. This includes the cannon being able to be placed on his side, removed and placed on his wrist, and the tank turret can be positioned in the front, and the cannon and double blasters can be raised 90 degrees to face forward, and used as primary weapons in robot mode. The tank turret can spin 260 degrees, but is stopped from going full circle.
Here is a comparison of Megatron and Galvatron using this mold. There are no changes in the sculpt, as this is a redeco.
His tank mode is stunning, and the transformation is pretty simple even though he is a larger Transformer figure, which is not always the case as some transformations can be pretty complex on larger figures. Megazarak however has a moderate transformation, meaning that those with a little experience shouldn’t have too much difficult transforming him.
All of the colors are carried over in this mode, and the tank cannon and blaster can also be raised and lowered in this mode, as these are also his primary weapons. The Decepticon logo is also on top of the tank turret.
Overall, Megazarak is a great offering to the line and something special to fans that don’t have this character. An obscure character for sure, but Hasbro has been offering previous convention exclusive characters in recent years to give fans another opportunity to own them, which is great. This one is surely going to be memorable, so make sure to grab him and additional figures now at BigBadToyStore!
