Mattel is now offering their DC Comics Multiverse 6″ Lex Luthor Collect & Connect Wave, which includes Vixen, The Ray, Rebirth Wonder Woman and Gaslight Batman. Wonder Woman is based on the DC Rebirth storyline, which was a relaunch of the brand in 2016. This storyline restored the DC Universe and its continuity.
Thank you to Mattel for providing their DC Comics Multiverse 6″ Lex Luthor Collect & Connect Wave Rebirth Wonder Woman Figure for review.
Availability: December 2018
Wonder Woman is inspired by her appearance in DC Rebirth, and is painted in her classic colors with some of the best sculpting for a Wonder Woman figure that Mattel has ever offered. She is painted in a red top with sculpted lines, gold trim on the top shaped like a W, a gold belt also shaped like a W, blue shorts with sculpted details that make it look like leather, and gold trim on that as well. There are also gold stars on both sides of the shorts. On the shorts is a hook for the lasso of truth to be stored onto. Her boots are mostly painted in red with gold knee pads and gold sculpted details on the front, sides and around the back. Her bracelets are silver with sculpted lines, and she has a gold arm bracelet on the top of right arm that also has sculpted details.
Her head sculpt is nicely done with long black hair with blue highlights, a gold head band with a red star, and nicely done paint applications on her face, which includes red lipstick, eye brows, eye liner and eye balls.
Included with Wonder Woman are two lasso of truths, one that goes on her shorts all folded up, and one that fits in her hands, a sword, and a closed fisted left hand sculpt.
Her articulation includes a ball jointed neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, ball hinged wrists, ab crunch, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
Overall, Wonder Woman is an excellent figure with a superior figure sculpt and a great likeness. We particularly like the sculpt of the outfit and extremely detailed paint applications. This line-up is one of the best we’ve seen from Mattel in recent years, as it includes all comic-inspired characters, which is a personal preference. Lex Luthor is another great figure, so make sure to come back and check out his toy review coming soon.
