Marvel’s Secret Wars was one of the most memorable story arch’s in the 1980’s, which ran from 1984 – 1985 in March Comics, and also had a great toy line by Kenner. The story puts Marvel’s heroes and villains against each other and placed on BattleWorld by the Beyonder. Hasbro is now offering a full wave of Secret Wars figures in their Marvel Legends line, which includes Captain America, Iron Man, Wolverine, The Beyonder, Titania and Spider-Man.
Thank you to BigBadToyStore for sending along Hasbro’s Marvel Legends Secret Wars Captain America and Titania Figures for review.

Captain America and Titania is packaged on a blister card with artwork and logo’s inspired from the vintage Secret Wars toy line of the 1980’s by Kenner. The back includes an action shot of each of them, a description, images of the wave, and instructions of the shield that includes a hologram. It should be noted that the 1980’s Kenner figure also had several comic panels, which is not included in this new offering.
Captain America pays tribute to the classic Secret Wars action figures by Kenner, but this figure is also a reuse of an existing Captain America figure that was offered in the 20th Anniversary line in Marvel Legends. He comes in his classic red, white and and blue outfit, along with a black belt and metallic silver belt buckle.
This is a lighter shade of blue compared to the 20th Anniversary edition release, and it should be noted that the harness is not given to this release.
The head sculpts both look great, and each given their own facial expressions, masked with the A on top and the wings on the sides.
The shield is broken and comes in three pieces that do not connect together, but shows how fierce the battle was in this comic book storyline. Interestingly enough the vintage figure from Kenner did not include his shield, only the hologram. The shield can be placed on the wrist, or plugged into his back.
Also included are three sets of interchangeable hands, including closed fisted, open grip, left finger pointing and right salute.
The shield includes a hologram that shows Captain America, and Steve Rogers. You can also open up the shield and replace the hologram with a Secret Wars piece.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head and hinged neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, waist rotation, ball joined hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, swivel boots, hinged and rocker ankles.
Titania appears to be an all-new sculpt and coms in her dark and light purple outfit, a metallic gold belt, and metallic silver spikes on the sides of her arms and legs. Titania stands at almost 7″ tall making her not only the largest figure in the wave, but also one of the largest figures to be offered on a blister card. The muscles in her legs are clearly as big as She-Hulks, and she has bulky thighs and skinnier arms and knees.
Titania’s head sculpt includes a purple mask, blonde hair, and a grinning facial expression. She also has blue eyes and red lipstick, and the detail on this looks superb.
Titania includes 2 sets of interchangeable hands, closed fisted and open handed.
Her articulation includes a ball jointed head and hinged neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball joined hips, swivel boots, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
The shield includes a hologram that shows her as masked and unmasked. You can also open up the shield and replace the hologram with a Secret Wars piece.
As you can see Titania is only a little shorter than She-Hulk.
Overall, Captain America and Titania are great figures and a really good homage to the vintage 1984 figure by Kenner. Titania wasn’t offered as part of the Kenner line, so this is your first chance to obtain her from that story. Make sure to grab Hasbro’s Secret Wars wave at BigBadToyStore!
