Mattel Creations is now offering their WWE Superstars Cody Rhodes & Dusty Rhodes 2-Pack that went up for pre-order on March 6th and was part of the special Mattel Creations Event. This set includes both Cody and Dusty Rhodes, otherwise known as the American Nightmare and the American Dream. These figures includes shared parts with Masters of the Universe: Origins and these parts are interchangeable with Turtles of Grayskull, Masters of the WWE Universe, Masters of the Universe x ThunderCats and WWE Superstars. This set is a Mattel Creations exclusive, and is priced at $50 USD.
The set includes a vintage style Championship Title for Dusty Rhodes, weight belt for Cody Rhodes, interchangeable hands for both figures, and entrance gear.

Cody Rhodes and Dusty Rhodes come in a brown mailer box, with the WWE Superstars and WWE on both sides, and the side includes a silhouette of the characters. Inside, they come in a blister card, with the WWE Superstars logo on top, and the package is inspired from the 1980’s Wrestling action figure lines. The front also includes artwork of both characters, and the back is black and white, and the card slides up so you can. take them out of the plastic tray.
Cody and Dusty Rhodes come in their ring entrance soft-goods shirts, Dusty comes with the WWE World Championship Belt, and Cody a weight belt. Both figures use shared parts with other WWE Superstars figures, along with the other lines mentioned above, such as Masters of the Universe: Origins. These parts are all compatible with all lines that are given this style, and you can swap out the heads, torso, arms, hips/legs and hands to most of the figures offered.
The head sculpts on both Dusty and Cody look great and capture the Wrestler’s likeness extremely well. Dusty comes with his black Dusty The American Dream entrance shirt, and Cody his Finish the Story shirt that was used to promote his match with Roman Reigns as he looked capture the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, which was a title that Dusty did not have. The belt also has the Finish the Story text on the back.
Dusty also has a green elbow pad, white wrist bands, red knee pads, red and white boots. Cody comes in blue, white, metallic gold, and red pants, and white booth with his insignia on the sides. Cody has the tattoo on his neck, and a white gloves on his right hand.
Both figures also includes interchangeable hands, including 3 sets for Cody (closed fisted, open grip, chop), and 4 sets for Dusty (closed fisted, grip, pointy fingers, and chop).
The interchangeable hands works well for both characters, and the open grip hands allows them to hold their belts.
The entrance gear is removable, and you can see their chests with muscles, and some additional details. Cody has his insignia on the right side of his neck, the Dream tattoo, chest hair, and you can easily tell that the reused parts from He-Man and other figures make up the bulk of this figure. Dusty is more heavy set, but reuses parts from some of the more bulky figures in WWE Superstars, and has his birthmark on his stomach, chest hair, and the DR text on his black trunks.
Comparing these figures to others offered in the Superstars and Masters of the WWE Universe line, these fit in nicely.
As both figures share the Origins style parts, their bodies are articulated the same as existing figures. This includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel-hinged knees, swivel boots, hinged and rocker ankles.
Overall, Mattel is offering a great set here with their WWE Superstars Cody Rhodes and Dusty Rhodes figures and these are certainly essential wrestlers to the collection. The likeness and attention to detail looks great, and this is one set you’re definitely going to want to buy.
