Grizzlor is a member of the Horde Empire and part of Catra’s force squad. He is inspired from his appearance on the 1980’s She-Ra: Princess of Power series. Grizzlor is part of a new wave that also includes Orko/Uncle Montork and Fang Man.
Thank you to Mattel for sending along their Masters of the Universe: Origins Cartoon Collection Grizzlor Figure for review.
Availability: June 2025
Grizzlor is packaged on the standard Origins-style bluster card, with the appropriate logo’s on top, Hordak above that, Castle Grayskull, and the back includes more great artwork showcasing the episode “He Ain’t Heavy from the She-Ra: Princess of Power cartoon of the 1980’s. Shown below that is a look at Grizzlor with the Moon Mirror, and a look at the rest of the wave. Included is a sheet of instructions, and the Future Tense mini-comic.

Grizzlor is inspired from his appearance in the episode “He Ain’t Heavy” from the She-Ra: Princess of Power cartoon. He is given a lot of shared parts with existing figures in this line, including the arms, torso, and legs, with a new head, sculpted fur overlay, crotch and boots. The chest is given the new sculpted fur, which can be removed from the torso, and given a black harness and red Horde logo. The sculpted fur is a dark brown, which is on the crotch, and his hair. He is also given a black belt, black boots and red Horde logo’s on each one. The facial details look great and he is given yellow eyes and white fangs.

The Moon Mirror has a reflective piece and he can see his own reflection, and includes a yellow frame.
He is also fully articulated, and includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel-hinged knees, swivel calves, hinged and rocker ankles.

This is also the first-time that Grizzlor has not been offered as an exclusive figure in the Origins line, with previous offerings being a Mattel Creations exclusive and part of a Power-Con exclusive box set.

Overall, Grizzlor is an excellent figure with a great likeness to how he appeared in the 1980’s cartoon. This is definitely a great offering that you’re going to want to add to your Cartoon Collection. Make sure to pre-order now at one of the stores listed below!
