Back at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, Mattel announced a new collaboration with Hasbro, which is their Masters of the Universe and Transformers brands. This is the first-time these 1980’s franchises are coming together, bringing both of these together as part of the Origins line. These are exclusively at Target and Mattel Creations in the U.S. These are priced at $32.99 each. This wave includes Megatron Armor Skeletor and Bumblebee Armor Man-At-Arms.
Thank you to Mattel for sending along their Masters of the Universe Origins x Transformers Megatron Armor Skeletor and Bumblebee Armor Man-At-Arms Figures for review.Â
Availability: October 2025 – Mattel Creations & Target Stores Exclusive
These figures are packaged in the Origins style window box, with artwork featuring a tribute from both franchises, including the logo’s on the top, the sides include images of Snake Mountain and Castle Grayskull, with the squares paying a tribute to the packaging of Transformers Generation One toys of the 1980’s. The sides includes images of the characters, and the back includes a description, and more great artwork. The inside flap includes stats of the figures, which also pays tribute to the Transformers Generation One toys. Both figures include a mini-comic, which is better shown in the video embedded above, and a sheet of instructions.

Bumblebee Armor Man-At-Arms shows the best of both characters, including the armor which is given metallic yellow, with the windshield of Bumblebee and the Autobot logo in red and light grey, and the mouth guard for Man-At-Arms in yellow and a dark grey. The windshield’s are given a blueish-grey, abdomen the rest of the armor is the same yellow as the torso, with the belt and right bracelet being a metallic gold. The armor over the torso is also removable, including the armor on the left leg, and left shoulder.

The head sculpt looks great and pays homage to both characters, including Man-At-Arms face and mustache, and Bumblebee’s horns. This is yellow, and the blueish-grey deco. He comes with a mask that covers his entire face, and stays on pretty well. This comes in metallic yellow and silver deco.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel-hinged knees, swivel boots, hinged and rocker ankles.

Man-At-Arms includes a new mace, hwihci is yellow, grey and blue, a shield that is yellow with the Autobot logo, a energon sword, and a blaster. The sword can plug into the bottom of the mace to become one weapon, which he can only hold in one hand. The shield and sword can also become one weapon and there is a clip on the back of the shield that the handle of the sword can be placed in. The blaster can be held in either hand, and is light grey.

Here is a comparison with Cartoon Collection Man-At-Arms.

Megatron Armor Skeletor brings the best of both characters, including Megatron’s armor on the chest, shoulders, forearms, head and feet. The armor is grey, with metallic silver gauntlets, black, purple and metallic grey boots. The chest includes the Decepticon logo, Skeletor’s bones in purple, and the sides of the torso are left blue as opposed to painted them grey, which looks strange for the lower part of the chest, while the upper part is grey. The shoulder pads can be raised to allow the shoulders more articulation, which is great. On the back are two holes on the sides that the sword can be placed in for storage.

His head sculpt is mostly helmeted that pays tribute to Megatron, with Skeletor’s facial details in yellow, black and red eyes. The jaw is movable but only because it’s made of a soft plastic, and not a hinge joint.

Included with Skeletor is a cannon barrel, which features Megatron’s cannon and Skeletor’s staff. The cannon can be placed inside the mouth, or place it in the back, and lower the havoc staff head down so he can hold this in either hand. Also included is a sword he can hold in either hand, or place on his back for storage. The head of it pays tribute to his havoc staff as well. He also includes a mace that he can hold. The pink part of the mace can be detached and placed into one of his gauntlets by removing a hand first (shown on the package and I forgot to photography it and mention in the video – apologies!).

Overall, these are great figures and certainly better in-hand than I expected. These are wacky looking figures for sure, but wacky is what makes Origins a fun line and that is what makes this work so well. This brings both of these 80’s iconic brands together for the first-time, and the design and attention to detail on these came out great. Make sure to pick them up once they’re released!
