Wolverine and Silver Samurai are based on their appearance in the classic Marvel vs. Capcom video game of the late 1990’s, which saw some of the better known characters from both brands fight each other in a 2-player video game. The set includes two classic X-Men characters that not only had a memorable impact in the game, but are two of Marvel’s greatest heroes and villains.

Wolverine and Silver Samurai are packaged in a window box with he Gamerverse logo and artwork, including their logo’s in 8-bit that is inspired by the video game Marvel Vs. Capcom, the sides include video game images of the characters, and the back features both figures in fighting poses, their statistics from the game, and beautifully done artwork. Both figures are packaged in a plastic tray along with their accessories.
Wolverine features an all-new sculpt with bigger bulkier muscles as seen in the game, and these muscles are bigger than his comic book likeness. He comes in his classic 90’s yellow, black and blue outfit, with a red belt that has a black X belt buckle. The suit includes black stripes over the yellow on the torso, blue and yellow pants, blue shoulder pads, blue gloves, blue and black boots. The claws are grey with a metallic finish, and are longer compared his normal claws, as also seen in the Marvel vs. Capcom game. His arms are also flesh tone with a black wash showcasing his hair.
His head sculpt includes the yellow and black cowl, with long black sids, and small white eyes. The facial details includes a wide grinning mouth with white teeth, painted lips, and a beige flesh tone.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head and hinged neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed waist, ball joined hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, swivel boots, hinged and rocker ankles.
Silver Samurai is a reuse of his existing sculpt, and comes in a dark grey armored suit, with some metallic on the soft plastic shoulder pads and around the hips. The armor is given sculpted wrinkles, with circular details on the bracelets and boots, and a red insignia on the chest.
His head sculpt is helmeted in grey and red, with white eyes. The lower portion of his head is shown with a beige flesh tone, grinning white teeth and painted lips.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head and hinged neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed waist, ball joined hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, swivel boots, hinged and rocker ankles.
Wolverine includes two sets of interchangeable hands (clawed and fisted), X slash effect with an acrylic stand. The X slash effect has some blue wash at the center.
Silver Samurai includes a katana, an Electricity effect that fits through the sword, and a throwing star effect and an acrylic stand.
Overall, both Wolverine and Silver Samurai are great offerings and features a good likeness to the source material. Getting this new version of Wolverine is refreshing, and you can never have enough figures of him in this suit. Silver Samurai is given some new deco, which looks great.
