Hasbro is offering a new Marvel Legends Hulk figure in their Maximum Series sub-line, which offers iconic characters with a ton of accessories that allow dynamic posing, display and photography. So far, Spider-Man and Hulk are the first two figures offered in this line, and this is off to a great start. The Incredible Hulk is inspired by his appearance in Marvel Comics, and includes effect pieces, interchangeable heads and hands, and a missile.

Hulk is packaged in a window box with artwork and the Maximum Series logo, Marvel Legends logo, and the artwork features images of him on the sides, and back. He comes in a plastic tray for safe keeping along with his accessories.
Maximum Hulk features the same sculpt that we first saw offered at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 as that years Exclusive with the Kenner inspired figure, with this new offering given some updates, such as a rubber chest overlay over the top part of the chest, heads, and updated articulated feet. It’s interesting how a 6 year old sculpt can still work in this new era of Marvel Legends, as the articulation, style and design given to that 2019 figure, works with this new release as well. The line has only improved since 2019, but some of those older sculpts, especially this one, simply works.
Hulk’s new chest overlay is placed over the older chest, with this new one being bigger and bulkier than before. His skin tone is bright green as seen in the pages of Marvel Comics, with bright purple pants that are torn, and also given a light purple wash on the edges around the torn parts. The skin also has a wash with two shades of green, which looks great.
Hulk is given three new head sculpts that you never thought you’d see offered with Hulk, including a short hair version with a smirk, white teeth, green lips and black eye lashes. The hair is black with a green wash. The second head sculpt has longer hair that’s black with a green wash, bigger teeth with a grin that has red gums, green lips, white eyes with a pupil, and black eye lashes. The third head has spiked black hair with a green wash, white teeth, red tongue and inside the mouth, black eyes and black thick eye lashes. All three head sculpts have unique facial expressions, hair and differentiate enough to use for any pose or display purposes.
Hulk stands at almost 8 1/2″ tall and also includes the veins as seen on other figures offered with this sculpt, but the veins are painted in the same shade of green, which are not obvious enough that they’re there. The muscular physique makes him tower over most other figures, and his immense size and bight colors also makes this version of the Hulk stand out from the rest.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head and neck, ball jointed torso, hidden butterfly shoulders as the chest overlay hides that now, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, waist rotation, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles, and hinged toes.
Hulk includes three sets of interchangeable hands, closed fisted, chop and open grip.
His effect pieces attach to his wrists, and serve as a fast moment of air as his moves can sometimes be too quick to see. These effect parts are a clear plastic, with a green wash where it attached to the wrists.
There is also a plastic yellow effect piece that can rest in-between the two other effect pieces, but placing this as shown is not as easy as it looks.
The missile is my personal favorite accessory as this has never been offered before with Hulk. The missile can split apart, with wires showing on one side, and a detachable flame on the other. Both halves, or a combined missile can be placed in his open grip hands.
Here’s a comparison of Hulk with the 2019 SDCC Hulk figure that was the first to get this sculpt. The new one clearly stands out much better and visually a much better offering, at least in my opinion. The second comparison of Hulk is from the She-Hulk series on Disney+ figure that was offered.
Overall, Hulk is by far an excellent figure that’s fun, ready to pose and display with all of the different options, great accessories, and certainly some wacky head sculpts with facial expressions never offered before.
