The second figure in Hasbro’s Maximum Series is a 1990’s inspired Spider-Man, which is inspired by his appearance in Marvel Comics. Spider-Man comes packed with accessories to give fans many different iconic poses afrom a number of notable comic book storylines. He comes with interchangeable head sculpts, hands, web lines and web blast effects, along with a hinged web display stand.

Spider-Man is packaged in a window box, with artwork, logo’s and images of him on all sides. Inside, he comes packaged in a plastic tray, and there is a second plastic tray that stores several of his interchangeable hands, acrylic stand and base.
Spider-Man comes in his classic red and blue Spider suit, with black webbing and logo on the red parts of the suit. The back has a large red spider logo over the dark blue part, which has the top parts of the legs on the back of the butterfly shoulders. He looks to have shared parts with the recently released Symbiote Spider-Man figure from Secret Wars, including the upper torso and arms, and the legs are most likely reuse from a different figure.
Spider-Man includes three head sculpts, two masked with different eye expressions, and one Peter Parker head sculpt. The likeness on Peter looks good and he’s given brown sculpted hair with a wash, eye lashes and nicely done facial details.
Spider-Man includes 5 pairs on interchangeable hands (closed fisted, web shooting, wall climbing, open grip, and web shooting from hands). Each of these are essential for Spider-Man given his many different poses and flexibility.
The web shield protects him from an enemy attach and looks the part of webbing rolled into a circle. There is also a clip on the back for his wrist.
He comes with 2 long webs that can be used for swinging, but you’ll need to be creative with wires to get the other end to stay up. These can also be used to wrap around a villain as if Spider-Man captured his opponent.
Spider-Man also includes an acrylic base, stand and two different web effects that can be connected to the top of it.
Also included is a Spider sense piece that can be placed on the top of his head, and interchangeable forearms that shows where the web fluid comes out.
Spider-Man is also fully articulated, and includes a ball jointed head and neck, ball hinged shoulders, butterfly shoulder, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel forearms, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, hinged abs, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, swivel thighs, swivel calves, hinged and rocker ankles, and hinged toes.
Overall, Maximum Spider-Man is an excellent figure that will surely stand out on your shelf as there are plenty of accessories and interchangeable parts to satisfy collectors. This is a really good update to the character and many of the accessories are not usually offered with Spider-Man, so it’s refreshing to see something new for a change.
