Blokees are offering new lines of Model Kits, which were shown off at New York ToyFair and includes brands such as Marvel, Transformers, Star Wars and Anime. Thor is one of the first Marvel figures to be offered, which also includes Deadpool, Captain America, Wolverine, Venom and Iron Man. with additional characters such as Rocket Raccoon and Spider-Man are coming.
Each figure is a Model Kit, and light weight assembly that does not require painting or glueing, as it snaps together. There are 6 trays, each given a letter A-F, and the parts snap right off, two baggies that include the heads, hands, lightning effects, hair, connectors and parts of the arms and legs. The model kits are also relatively on the cheap side, as most of them at $19.99 each, with one version of Iron Man being $27.99. The figures are also shorter than Marvel Legends, as Thor is just under 5 1/2 inches.

Thor is packaged in a box with artwork, logo’s and images, with a breakdown of the parts and assembly on the back. A sheet of instructions is including with step by step instructions for assembly. The instructions, while good, don’t specify that some of the parts such as the arms and legs are located in the baggie, while other parts are specified by letter and numbers to identify the tray and where they’re located.
Thor is inspired by the live-action Marvel Studios appearance and features a stylized likeness to Actor Chris Hemsworth. The suit is movie inspired, which is mostly dark grey, with sculpted details and throughout the suit. As no painting or gluing is required, the body holds up pretty well by being snapped together. The chest includes metallic silver and dark grey circular details, with the two upper parts can be removed and replaced by lighting effects.
Thor includes two head sculpts, both a stylized version of Chris Hemsworth, with one given lightning effect eyes. Both are given great facial details, and sculpted brown hair, eye lashes, mustache and beard. There is also a scar on the right side above the eye.
Thor includes Stormbreaker, the axe with the wooden limb from Groot. He also includes three sets of interchangeable hands (closed fisted, neutral, and open grip).
He also includes lighting effects, which can be placed on his upper chest, around his waist, forearms, and there’s also one for the axe. The lighting effect pieces stay on pretty well, with the one around his waist and forearms are loose fitting, while the one’s on his upper chest and plugged into it. The lighting effect for Stormbreaker does tend to fall off easily.
His articulation incudes a ball jointed head and neck, ball jointed shoulders, butterfly shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, ball joined wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, and ball jointed ankles.
Overall, Thor is a great figure with a good likeness and a decent amount of articulation for a Model Kit. The lighting effects make him look better visually, which is a nice addition. Even though he’s not to scale with most other Marvel figures out there, he’s still a good figure and one you’re probably going to want to own.
For those that are new to building Model Kits, this is a good jumping on point to get yourself familiar with it. The instructions are fairly easy to follow, but make sure to pay close attention to the assembly of the torso parts, and keep in mind that parts of the arms and legs are in the baggie, and not the tray itself.
