The Fantastic Four are back with an all-new cast and the film is currently out in theaters, and we’re seeing a lot of product from this film already hit the toy aisle. One of the most notable releases inspired from the film are Hasbro’s Marvel Legends 6″ figures, which are also currently available. This wave includes Mr. Fantastic, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, Human Torch, The Thing and Silver Surfer. Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman are packaged in window boxes, with artwork and logo’s inspired from the new film. Both the sides and the back feature images of Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman in their respective packaging. It should be noted that the back of the packaging does not show additional figures I the wave, which is unusual for Marvel Legends.
Mr. Fantastic comes in his film-accurate light blue jumpsuit with white gloves, belt and boots with a black trim. The gloves have black on the inside and white on the outside, with the right glove featuring a dark grey bracelet. The boots also have metallic silver deco and a black circle, with the bottom of them featuring the same light blue with a black stripe as the rest of the jumpsuit. The 4 logo is on his chest, which is blue and light grey circle around it. The jumpsuit has a lot of sculpted textures, patterns and wrinkles, making it look and feel more life-like.
His head sculpt features the likeness of Actor Pedro Pascal, with light brown hair and grey on the sides, a sculpted and painted beard, mustache, and eye brows. The facial details look great and this is a good likeness for him in this scale.
Included with Mr. Fantastic are two sets of interchangeable hands (closed fisted and neutral).
Also included are extended arms that you can bend, with the hands not being removable and these include The arms have the same details and textures as the rest of the suit, and even the gloves have been extended with the arms.
His articulation includes a ball hinged head, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
Invisible Woman also comes in a similar light blue and white jumpsuit along with a some black, with the gloves, belt and boots featuring black trim. The gloves are also black on the inside, and white on the outside, and the left wrist has the grey bracelet. The jumpsuit also has the same sculpted details and textures, and the 4 logo is on her chest in light blue, with a light grey circle.
Her head sculpt features the likeness of Actress Vanessa Kirby, with long blonde hair, painted details on the face and nicely done facial details.
She is also given two sets of interchangeable hands, (right closed fisted, left open grip, right hand to hold the invisible force shield that also has a hole in it, and left neutral hand).
The force shield is also included, and there are bullet punchers and details given to it to give It an effect. She can only hold it in her right open hand with the hole in it, and makes for a great effect piece.
Her articulation includes a ball hinged head, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
Comparing these to their Fantastic Four animated counterparts, which are the most recent one’s offered, these new movie figures certainly stand out compared to the comic or cartoon figures that have been offered.
Overall, Hasbro’s Fantastic Four: First Steps figures have been a treat for fans that have been wanting to see the return of Marvel’s first family, and all of these look great to the source material and fit in nicely with the Marvel Cinematic Universe collection.
