Hasbro’s newly released Marvel Legends 6″ Executioner Build-A-Figure Wave figures offers some great additions and updates into the line, and the Executioner makes his debut in the line. This wave includes WW2 Wolverine, Mark 72 Mysterium Armor Iron Man, Werewolf by Night, Enchantress, Dark Avengers Spider-Man, Warbow and Phantom Rider figures. Each figure is inspired by their appearance as seen in the pages of Marvel Comics.

Phantom Rider comes in window boxes with artwork and images on all sides, including comic images of the characters on the sides, and the back includes more comic images, a description, and a look at the entire wave.
Phantom Rider is the first Ghost Rider makes hide debut in Marvel Legends, and Carter Slade was seen in the pages of Marvel Comics riding a horse in the Wild West. This figure is based on his comic appearance, and he comes in an all-white spectral cowboy figure, with a plastic cape that is removable by removing the head, a belt with some metallic silver deco and has a holster for each pistol on the sides, and he has a smooth muscular sculpt that features a lot of reuse from previous figures.
The head sculpt has a non-removable cowboy hat, with a white mask, and black eye shadow around the eyes.
Phantom Rider includes five interchangeable hands (a set of closed fisted, right neutral, and a set of open grip), two pistols that fit into the open grip hands, and can be placed in the holsters on his belt.
He also includes the left leg for Executioner.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head and neck with a hinge joint, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ab crunch, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel-thighs, double-hinged knees, swivel calves, hinged and rocker ankles.
Executioner also makes his debut in Marvel Legends in the 6″ scale, as this long awaited figure is offered as the waves build-a-figure, and requires you to buy every figure except WWII Wolverine to build him. Executioner is also based on his comic appearance, and is known as the muscle for The Enchantress, and this big brute is from Asgard that was seen many times battling Thor, the Avengers, and other heroes.
He comes in a blue and black armored suit, with his arms showing his muscles, with armor plating on his chest that is metallic grey, black pants, blue shirt and skirt, with the skirt made of a soft plastic and has grey circular buttons at the bottom. The armor also has grey circular buttons on the top of the straps over his shoulders, and the shoulders also have the grey circular buttons, blue gloves, blue boots with black stripes, and grey sculpted cuffs. The skirt is made of a soft plastic so it doesn’t prevent the articulation in the hips from having a full range of motion, which enhances his possibility.
His head sculpt looks great and he’s given his black tattoos on his bald head, black eye liner, a black goatee, painted lips and eyes, and nicely done facial details.
Executioner includes an axe, two sets of interchangeable hands (right open grip, left closed fisted, and a set of neutral hands.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head and neck with a hinge joint, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed hips, swivel-thighs, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
Overall, Phantom Rider and Executioner are excellent figures with a great likeness to the source material and a lot of great detail. Both characters make their debut in the 6″ scale Marvel Legends line, and both are impressive looking figures. Executioner is definitely essential and owning the entire wave is a must as it’s not only impressive, but includes some great character choices, with the exception of that confusing Spider-Man from Dark Avengers.
