Hasbro’s Marvel Legends Series Astonishing X-Men Colossus and Kitty Pryde figures completes the team as they appeared in the first run of the comic from 2004-2008, which the team also consisted of Cyclops and Emma Frost as team leaders, Beast, and Wolverine. This is an essential set for fans that like team building and especially completing a team. They are inspired by their appearance in Marvel Comics’ Astonishing X-Men #1 was released in 2004, which gave the X-Men new costumes and became a one of the most memorable X-Men comic series of all-time.

Colossus and Kitty Pryde are packaged in a window box, with comic-inspired artwork on all sides, along with images of the characters on the sides and back. The back also has a description of the set.
Colossus is given an all new sculpt and comes in his classic red and yellow X-Men uniform, with an X-Men logo belt buckle. His mutant shinny metallic silver skin is also seen on the head, neck, biceps, forearms, hands, stomach and knees. Most of the suit is red, while the center of it is yellow, with yellow stripes on the belt, and boots. This sculpt is also taller than what has come before, as he tends at more than 7 1/2″ tall.
Colossus includes two head sculpts, one neutral, and the other a grinning face with his teeth showing. Both have the flat black hair, and nicely done facial details.
Also included are two sets of interchangeable hand sculpts, including closed fisted, and open hands with the fingers sculpted apart.
His articulation is also standard for this era of Marvel Legends, including a ball jointed head and hinged neck, ball hinged shoulders, butterfly shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
Here is a comparison with the previous Colossus figure recently offered that came with Juggernaut. Both outfits have merit, but this new one has a better and taller figure sculpt, and has more bulkiness to it, which is an improvement.
Kitty Pryde is also given a new sculpt and comes in her Astonishing X-Men black and yellow outfit, with a loose fitting yellow belt with a red and gold belt buckle around her waist. There is also a crisp gold vertical line that is located at the center of her upper chest to the neck, which is a tiny detail and something you may miss if you don’t look closely.
Her head sculpts both look great and she has a brown pony tail, and curly bangs. The facial details on both look great and have red lipstick, black eye shadow, and nicely done facial details.
She includes two sets of interchangeable hands, including closed fisted, and neutral, and a reissue of Lockheed the purple dragon that has been offered a few times before. Perhaps it’s time that Lockheed gets a new sculpt? But at least this one can be attached to her arm or around her neck with the tail, so he can stand up straight.
Her articulation is also standard for this era of Marvel Legends, including a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
Colossus and Kitty Pryde are needed in your collection to complete the Astonishing X-Men team from 2004, and this 2-pack is an excellent way to go about that.
