The results are in and Hasbro’s Marvel Legends Secret Wars line is a hit, all inspired by the classic storyline, which ran from 1984 – 1985 in Marvel Comics, and also had a great toy line by Kenner. The story puts Marvel’s heroes and villains against each other and placed on BattleWorld by the Beyonder. This wave includes Constrictor, Falcon, Daredevil, Magik, Spider-Man (Alien Costume) and Absorbing Man.

Spider-Man (Alien Costume) and Daredevil are packaged on a blister card with artwork and logo’s inspired from the vintage Secret Wars toy line of the 1980’s by Kenner. The back includes an action shot of them, a description, images of the wave, and instructions of the shield that includes a hologram.
Spider-Man becomes fused with the Venom symbiote and this figure depicting Venom absorbing him, with the black alien symbiot on the left arm, parts of the chest and left side of the head. Spider-Man comes in his classic blue and red Spidey suit with the black webbing, and the right arm is also retooled to the sculpt as it has torn parts showcasing his flesh.
Spider-Man’s head sculpt is also particularly fused with the Venom symbiote, along with the red mask, black webbing and white eyes.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, butterfly shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ab crunch, ball joined hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, swivel calves, hinged and rocker ankles, and hinged toes.
Spider-Man includes two sets of interchangeable hands (closed fisted, right web slinging, and left Venom wall crawling), a small black symbiote, and a hologram.
The shield includes a hologram that shows him with the Spider-Man mask, and his mask with the right side being infected by Venom by moving it up and down. The first wave had shields that you can open it up and replace the hologram with a Secret Wars logo piece. This release does not have an extra piece to be swapped out, but you can still open the shield and replace it with a logo piece from one of wave 1’s offerings if you prefer.
Daredevil comes in his classic red outfit, with some black grim, a black belt with a silver belt buckle, the Daredevil logo in black on his chest, and a holster on his left hip for his billy clubs. It should be noted that this is one of Hasbro’s best Daredevil figures that they have ever put out, with the updated articulation and lean muscular sculpt.
His head sculpt comes with the red mask, with Devil horns on top, red eyes with some black eye lashes, with his nose and mouth showing.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head and hinged neck, ball hinged shoulders, butterfly shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ab crunch, ball joined hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, swivel calves, hinged and rocker ankles.
Daredevil includes two billy clubs that can come together, an effect piece that plugs into his back and shown behind his head, and the hologram with the shield.

Overall, both Spider-Man and Daredevil are a great figures and a welcome addition to the line. Daredevil is by far a must-have as this is one of the best releases offered in Marvel Legends, and this version of Spider-Man has never been done before, so it’s also long overdue.
