Hasbro’s Marvel Legends Series 6″ Doc Samson Figure joins this new era of figures, which is a great update and offering from his previous release in 2008 in that highly sought after Fin Fang Foom! build-a-figure wave. Doc Samson is comic-inspired, on retro toy packaging by ToyBiz of the mid 1990’s Hulk the animated series.
Psychiatrist Doc Samson tried to cure the Hulk by siphoning off Gamma Radiation but then exposed himself to a small dose granting him superhuman powers and flowing green hair.

Doc Samson comes packaged in a window box, which is inspired by retro ToyBiz Hulk figures of the mid-1990’s, including the Incredible Hulk logo, on the front and pack, and some great artwork on all sides. The back includes an image of the figure along with a description.
Doc Samson is inspired by his appearance in Marvel Comics, and comes in a red tee-shirt with a yellow and black line lighting bolt, a yellow belt with a metallic gold belt buckle, dark blue pants with red stripes on the sides, and yellow boots. The sculpt is muscular and defined, and the outfit includes sculpted folds and the muscular build is built into the shirt and pants.
Doc Samson includes two head sculpts, each with a unique likeness in the face and sculpted hair. Both have green hair with a wash, with two unique styles with one curly, and the other one straight, and both are given some great facial details, with black eye brows, and painted lips.
Doc Samson also includes two sets of interchangeable hands, including closed fisted, left open, and right open grip.
Doc Samson’s articulation includes a ball jointed head and hinged neck, ball hinged and butterfly shoulders, swivel biceps, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ab crunch, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, swivel thighs, hinged and rocker ankles.
Here is a comparison of Doc Samson with other recent Hulk-themed Marvel Legends releases. As you can see, he brings color to Hulk, Abomination and She-Hulk, and fits in nicely with the line.
Overall, Doc Samson is a great addition to the line and features a great likeness to the source material. The attention to details, accessories, sculpt and paint all look great and this is a great addition you are going to want to add to your collection.
